NOTE: This router is not recommended by Nextiva for Poly devices. DNS proxy/relay is unable to be disabled by telnet or the user interface. Poly phones will experience intermittent deregistration issues, causing dropped calls and interruption of service.
The ideal network involves your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connecting onsite to a stand-alone modem that connects to a router, preferably a router recommended to you from Nextiva. If you have more devices on your network than ports on your router, you can connect a switch to your router to expand the number of ports.
NOTE: Nextiva uses port 5062 to bypass SIP ALG, however, having this disabled is always recommended. SIP ALG inspects and modifies SIP traffic in unexpected ways causing one-way audio, deregistrations, random error messages when dialing and calls going to voicemail for no reason.
To Disable SIP ALG:
- Locate the IP address of the Cisco DDR2200. The default IP is 192.168.1.254.
- On a computer connected to the router, enter the following into the address bar of your web browser:
- IP.address.of.router/algcfg.html – Example: 192.168.1.254/algcfg.html
- Uncheck SIP Enabled.
- Click Save/Apply.
