Check lifter bar for correct installation

Word “Front” appears on one edge of lifter bar
-
Make sure part of bar with “Front” on it is pointing away from main body when lifter bar is in down position

Check lifter bar for free forward/backward movement
- Lifter bar should “float” freely forward and backward (to self-adjust to carpeting)
- If lifter bar does not freely “float”, or does not easily move back and forth completely remove 2 screws on either end of lifter bar and re-attach
- Screws must be inserted SLOWLY into position
- If a screw gets wedged against a bracket, slightly back out screw, wiggle bracket, and reinsert screw
- If this does not resolve problem, hold each end of lifter bar and manually force both ends (at same time) forward and backward 20-30 times to widen screw hole
- If a screw gets wedged against a bracket, slightly back out screw, wiggle bracket, and reinsert screw
- If lifter bar is still wedged, and does not float freely forward and backward after re-attaching, and manually forcing it forward/backward 20-30 times, a new lifter bar will need to be ordered
- If lifter bar is still not picking up hair, there may be a clog
