NOTE: The brush will not turn unless handle is in the reclined position

  • Turn on brush switch located on the upper handle beneath the power switch

    • A green light will illuminate around brush switch when the brush motor is on
  • Verify handle is firmly inserted with screws tightly secured to ensure internal connectors are connected

    • Front-side of handle should be flush with lower handle assembly
    • If there is a gap, push firmly until flush
  • Unplug machine and turn over so brush is facing up

  • Remove five screws on brush cover and lift off

  • Lift out brush and clean off any debris from brush and brush ends

    • Brush ends are removable for easy maintenance
  • Inspect brush and belt for damage

    • Brush should spin freely by hand
    • Belt should be intact
    • If any parts are damaged, replacements will need to be replaced
  • If brush becomes jammed, an electronic current sensor will automatically shut the brush motor off

    • When a jam occurs, power to the motor is cut and the lights around the brush button will flash five times
    • Unplug machine, clear jam and turn machine back on to reset sensor
    • If the brush still is not turning, visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us
