Quick start.

Getting your Solar Outdoor Siren 2 up and running is as simple as installing it and linking it to your Z-Wave network. The following instructions tell you how to add your Solar Outdoor Siren 2 to your Z-Wave network using an existing gateway.

Installation and mounting of Siren:

1. Mount the back mounting plate using 4 screws (we recommend to mount the back mounting plate 5 mm from the wall for better sound).

2. Open the case and turn on the power switch (see illustration below) by moving it towards the Z-Wave button (B). All LEDs will shine for a short moment to confirm.

3. Remove the metal mounting plate from the device.

4. Remove all protection foil from the device.

5. Now it is time to install Solar Outdoor Siren 2 to your existing gateway in the upcoming section.

Using an existing gateway:

1. Place your gateway or controller into Z-Wave pair or inclusion mode. (Please refer to your controller/gateway manual on how to do this)

2. Tap the internal button on Outdoor Solar Siren 2 once.

3. Your gateway should confirm if Solar Outdoor Siren 2 is successfully included into your network.

4. Now close up your Solar Outdoor Siren 2 by screwing in 6 screws to the mounting plate.

5. As soon as Outdoor Siren 2 is mounted, the tamper switch will activate. You should not remove the Siren from its mount to avoid triggering a tamper alarm.

Product Usage.

Wireless Control.

Siren can be turned on and off via your Z-Wave gateway interface, once this device is paired, this device should appear as a switch type device that you can control on/off. You can also program scene control to automatically trigger Siren utilizing Door Window Sensors, Multisensors, or other such sensors.

Tamper Switch.

Removing Siren from its back mount plate by default will automatically trigger the Siren. This is configurable via Parameter 1.

Advanced functions.

Removing your Solar Outdoor Siren 2 from a Z-Wave network.

Your Solar Outdoor Siren 2 can be removed from your Z-Wave network at any time. You’ll need to use a Z-Wave primary controller to do this and the following instructions which will tell you how to do this using your existing Z-Wave Network.

This method can be used with any Primary Z-Wave Controller even if it is not directly paired to Solar Outdoor Siren 2.

Using an existing gateway:

1. Open the case of Outdoor Solar Siren 2 and remove the metal mounting plate on the device.

2. Place your gateway or controller into Z-Wave unpair or exclusion mode. (Please refer to your controller/gateway manual on how to do this)

3. Tap the internal button on Outdoor Solar Siren 2 once.

4. Your gateway should confirm if Solar Outdoor Siren 2 is successfully excluded from your network.

Reset your Solar Outdoor Siren 2

Use this procedure only when the network primary controller is missing or otherwise inoperable.

To reset the device keep the inclusion button pushed for 10 seconds. After 5 seconds the LED starts flashing and after another 5 seconds there is a short beep signaling the successful reset back to factory defaults.

Association Groups.

Group Association is a specific function in Z-Wave that allows you to tell Solar Outdoor Siren 2 who it can speak to. Some devices may only have 1 group association meant for the gateway, or multiple group associations that can be used for specific events. This type of function isn’t used too often, but when it is available, you may be able to use it to directly communicate to Z-Wave devices instead of controlling a scene within a gateway which can have unforeseen delays.

Some gateways have the ability to set Group Associations to devices that have these special events and functions. Typically this is used to allow your gateway to update the status of Solar Outdoor Siren 2 instantly.

By default, your primary gateway should have been associated to Solar Outdoor Siren 2 automatically during the pairing of your Siren. For any case you have a Secondary Z-Wave Controller, you’ll need to associate it to your Solar Outdoor Siren 2 in order for your secondary controller to update its status.
