Remove/insert battery
The medicine TM 705 thermometer is ready to use out of the package as the
battery is already pre-inserted. However, if after a certain period of
operation, a battery symbol appears on the display, the battery must be
replaced. To do this, pull off cap 4 of the battery compartment and remove
the battery compartment about 10 mm from the thermometer.
Use a suitable tool, such as a ballpoint pen tip, to loosen the button cell
battery carefully. Insert the new button cell battery with the “+” symbol
pointing upwards. Slide the battery compartment back into the thermometer.
Close the battery compartment again with the cap.
Change the unit of measure
You can measure the temperature at ° Celsius or ° Fahrenheit. Please proceed as follows to select the unit of measure:
- The device has to be switched off.
- Press and hold the ON/OFF button for approx. 4 seconds to change the current setting.
- The actual selected unit of measure ( °C or °F ) appears in the upper right corner of the display.
Use
Press the ON/OFF button to switch the unit on. All display symbols will
appear shortly and a signal tone will be emitted, followed by the last
measured temperature. If the temperature is below 32°C (90°F), “Lo” is
displayed – if the temperature is above 42,9°C (109.9°F), “ Hi ” is
displayed. The Medisana thermometer TM 705 is now ready to take a
temperature reading. Position the sensor tip in oral, axillary or rectal
position:
ORAL READINGS: Place the sensor tip of the thermometer under the tongue
and close your mouth. Breathe through your nose while taking the reading in
order to avoid inaccurate results. RECTAL READINGS: Many patients find
rectal measurement uncomfortable, but it delivers precise results. To quickly
and reliably determine body temperature, carefully insert the sensor tip
approx. 1 cm into the rectum. ARMPIT READINGS:
Wash the armpit before taking a reading. Insert the tip of the thermometer
into the armpit. Lower the arm and press it lightly against the body while
the reading is being taken.
The thermometer will now automatically begin to take a reading. During the
reading, the “°”-sign flashes constantly. After the reading, multiple tones
will be emitted for approx. 10 seconds and the measurement result will be
displayed. If you continue to measure even after the signal tones have been
emitted, the readings will get more accurate. If you measure the body
temperature on the armpit, the measurement duration should be at least 10
minutes in order to get a reliable result. If the reading is > 37,8°C (100°F),
the thermometer will indicate fever alarm by announcing multiple beep sounds
(short beeps). The thermometer will switch off automatically ten minutes after
taking the reading. To prolong the life of the battery, however, you should
switch off the thermometer manually by pressing the ON/OFF button.
FEVERLINE INDICATING TECHNOLOGIE
At the completion of each measurement, the triangular arrow on the display
will indicate according to different temperature ranges.
Triangular arrow explains:
Note: If the displayed temperature is below 35,8°C ( 96,4°F), the triangle arrow will not be displayed.
