Cautions

  • Make sure the power supply voltage is correct before using the camera.
  • Do not drop the camera or subject it to physical shock.
  • Do not touch senor modules with fingers. If cleaning is necessary, use clean cloth with a bit of ethanol and wipe it gently. If the camera will not be used for an extended period, replace the lens cap to protect the sensor from dirt.
  • Do not aim the camera at the sun or extra bright places. Blooming or smearing may occur otherwise (which is not a malfunction), and affect the endurance of sensor at the same time.
  • The sensor may be burned out by a laser beam, so when any laser equipment is in using, make sure that the surface of sensor will not be exposed to the laser beam.
  • Do not place the camera in extremely hot, cold or dusty, and do not expose it to high electromagnetic radiation.
  • To avoid heat accumulation, good ventilation is required for operating environment.
  • The security camera supports outdoor and indoor use. Please make sure the camera power connector is waterproof.

1. Charge the Camera with a power Adapter

The camera is built-in battery. Before operation. please use the USB power cord and DC5V power adapter (not included) to fully charge your device.
There is an indicator light near the power port, Red means the camera is charging
Note: Please fully charge the camera when you use it at the first time.

2. Preparation

2.1. Search for Vacos Smart in App Store or Google Play. Download and install it into your phones or tablets.

2.2. The camera only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Please don’t connect it with 5GHz WIFI.
2.3. Your WiFi should be encrypted by WAP/WAP2, and make sure there are no special characters in the name and the password of WiFi.
2.4. When connecting, please ensure that the wifi signal is smooth and stable. We recommend t within 3-5m away from the router to ensure a successful connection.

3. Create Your Vacos Account

New users need to sign up by email. Click Sign Up , follow the steps to complete the registration, and then log in. (Picture 1, 2, 3)

4. Set up the Device

Turn on the camera by pressing the reset button. Now the camera is in standby mode. When LED indicator flashes red, the camera is ready for setting.

Note: If your camera won’t turn on, please charge it with a DC 5 V adapter or solar panel for 15 minutes. After that, reset the camera by pressing the reset button. You will hear a prompt tone after the reset succeeded.

5. Add the Device

5.1. Tap Add Device icon “+” to add your device and then choose Battery Camera. (Picture 4, 5)

5.3. Enter the WiFi password, and then click Next. (Picture 7)
5.4. A QR code will be shown on your phone. Please scan the QR code with the camera. (Picture 8, 9)

5.5. You’ll hear a prompt tone after the scan succeeded. Tap Next on the app. You will hear a prompt tone indicating WiFi connecting. When the app screen shows 100% connecting, the camera is connected to your WiFi. (Picture 10)

5.6. When the camera is online, you can name your camera, and then click Done. (Picture 11)
Note: If the camera fails to connect the WiFi, please reset the camera and try again.

Note: When the camera fails to scan the QR code, please select the AP mode for pairing

6. Notes on Camera Installation

Find the Best Spot for the Camera
Please install the camera 2-3 ( 7-10 ft) above the ground. The detection range of the motion sensor would be maximized at such a height.
It is not suggested to install the camera vertically towards the moving objects, otherwise, it may not detect the motion events or cause delay.
It is suggested to make the angle between PIR Sensor and detected objects more than10 degrees.
The Camera motion sensor is much more sensitive to side-to-side movement across its field of view than to movement directly toward or away from the camera.

6.1. Mount the Camera Outdoors with the Screw Bracket

6.1.1. Please drill 3 holes based on the drill template. Make sure the installation position is at a thick wall made from hard materials such as concrete, brick, or stucco. Fix the bracket to the wall with the screws.

6.1.2. Screw the camera to the bracket. Make sure the camera is stable against external forces.

7. FAQ

Q. Cannot add camera for the first time?
A. When adding a camera for the first time, make sure that the camera is powered on and the working status light flashes slowly in red.
1. Make sure the WIFI user name and password are correct.
2. The camera only supports 2.4GHZ WIFI, 5g band is not supported. please do not use 5G wifi to configure the network.
3. When adding a camera, ensure that the network is smooth, and it is recommended to connect near the router as much as possible.
4. If the QR code is unsuccessful in the network configuration, try to manually configure the network; try not to set complex WIFI password and do not contain special characters such as \’. ect
5. If the two methods still do not match the Internet, it is recommended to restart the router and try again.
6. Provide the nameplate label of the router

Q. No response to QR code scanning?
A.
1. Make sure that the QR code of the mobile phone is 15~20cm away from the camera lens when scanning the code, you can try to scan the code from multiple angles;
2. The QR code generated by the mobile phone may be abnormal. This situation maybe caused by new mobile phones or non-mainstream models. At this time, provide us with a screenshot of the QR code and the mobile phone model system version;
3. Make sure that the lens is clean, you can try AP network configuration, and check whether the lens has virtual glue after matching the Internet;
4. If all the network distribution methods are failed, and the camera does not respond when the network is distributed, the camera may be defective, please contact us .

Q. Why the camera is always disconnected/offline?
A. Network problems will cause the camera disconnected.
Solution:
1. Ensure that the place where the camera is installed can get a smooth WIFI signal, it is recommended to be above 75%. You can use the “installation guide” in the APP to perform network diagnosis, determine where you install the camera, and whether the camera can get a smooth WIFI network.
2. Restart the camera and router.
3. Judge whether the power of the camera is sufficient. When the battery is low, the camera will automatically turn off.
4. Take the camera next to the router and observe whether play the video is smooth. If the camera is still offline, it may be due to the camera hardware failure, please contact customer service.

Q. Why the camera consumes power fast?
A. The battery life of the camera depends on the times the camera works. The more times the camera is wakes up, the faster the battery will be consumed. According to laboratory test data, if the camera is triggered 15 times a day, the battery can be used for 3-5 months. If your camera battery drains very quickly, please check if the camera is triggered too many times. It is recommended to place the camera in a working environment with a smooth and stable network.
