hama Smart Air Purifier
Overview

Display and operating display

The illuminated ring visually indicates the indoor air quality
Green: good room air;
Yellow: normal room air;
Red: bad room air.
● Reminder function for filter change: when the air purifier detects that the filter has reached the saturation level, the operation indicator flashes red continuously. The filter should then be replaced to ensure sufficient air purification.
● With daily use, the combi-filter should be used up after approx. 6 – 12 months.
● The filter is not washable.
● An unpleasant odour during operation may indicate that filtered substances are decomposing in the filter (e.g. bacteria) and it needs to be replaced or ventilated in the sun.
● Vacuum the filter and the inner housing every 1 to 2 months to remove coarse dirt. Then place the filter outdoors in direct sunlight for approx. 3 hours to dry it and eliminate any bacteria, viruses etc. that may be present through the UV rays.
● The filter can then possibly be reused. The filter must be replaced after 1 year at the latest. On the one hand, there is a risk that it will no longer completely remove the particles mentioned from the air or that the pollutant particles already in the filter will be released again. The activated charcoal also loses its effect when unpacked.
● After replacing the filter, you must press the ON/OFF button (8) for approx. 7 seconds to cancel the alarm. -

M Medium speed
H High speed
Auto: the device regulates the fan speed independently according to the air quality. The illuminated ring (2) shows the air quality in colour.
If the humidity in the room is very high, condensation can form on the sensor and negatively affect the display and cause switching back and forth in automatic mode. In this case, use the air purifier with a manual speed setting. -

The principle of air purification
- A fan in the device draws in room air via the air inlets (5).
- The pre-filter is located at the top of the filter system for the initial filtration of impurities. Larger particles such as dandruff, hair and dust are filtered out.
- Afterwards, the sucked-in air flows through the Hepa 13 filter. The abbreviation HEPA stands for “High Efficiency Particulate Air”. The HEPA filter consists of a very fine fibre material. It has the ability to capture the smallest particles down to a size of between 0.1 to 0.3 μm, achieving a separation efficiency of 99.95%. Thus, it can remove bacteria (0.6 to 1.0 μm); filter fine dust (0.1 – 10 μm) and pollen (10 – 100 μm) from the air.
- The air then flows through an activated charcoal filter. It filters out formaldehyde, benzene, other gases and unpleasant odours. Activated charcoal has an excellent absorption capacity. It can deodorise, dehumidify and in some cases trap viruses and have a sterilising effect.
- The filtered air is discharged into the room at the air outlet.
Start-up and operation
Inserting/changing the filter
| Warning
- Make sure that the product is disconnected from the mains.
- Since the filter contains all the collected pollutants, it should only be changed outdoors and with appropriate care against contact contamination (gloves/respiratory protection).
---|---
- The filter must be inserted before the first start-up.
To do this, proceed as follows:
- Lay the air purifier on its side.
- Turn the base plate a quarter turn anticlockwise. The base plate can be removed. (Fig. 1)
- Remove the used filter, if any, and dispose of it in your household waste. (Fig. 2)
- Remove the new filter from the protective packaging (Fig. 3) and insert it into the device. (Fig. 4)
- Now reinsert the base plate into the latching lugs. Turn the base plate clockwise to tighten. (Fig. 5)
Switching the device on/off
| Warning
- Only operate the product from an approved socket that is connected to the public power supply. The socket must be installed close to the product and must be easily accessible.
- Disconnect the product from the power supply using the On/Off switch – if this is not available, unplug the power cord from the socket.
- If using a multi-socket power strip, make sure that the total power consumption of all connected devices does not exceed the power strip’s maximum throughput rating.
- If you will not be using the product for a prolonged period, disconnect it from mains power.
---|---
- Connect the mains lead on the air filter to a properly installed socket.
- Switch the air filter on/off using the ON/OFF button (8).
