Precautions
Please read this instruction manual carefully before use. Keep these instructions handy for future reference.
- Clean exposed parts with a soft, slightly damp cloth. To remove stains, use a mild soap. Never use detergents, excess water, treated cloths, harsh cleaning agents, or sprays. Do not attempt to lubricate or open scale casing as this will void your warranty.
- Although your scale is designed to be maintenance-free, it contains sensitive electronic parts. Avoid rough treatment. Do not drop, kick, or jump on it. Treat it with care to ensure the best performance.
- This scale is designed to read weights up to 5kg/11lb. To prevent damage, do not place more than 5 kgs on it.
- Do not store scale where you store cleaning chemicals. The vapors from some household products may affect the electronic components of your scale. Do not store scale on its side.
- This scale is an extremely sensitive weighing device. In order to prevent run down of the batteries, do not store anything on the scale.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode or leak. Remove the batteries if the scale will not be used for a long period of time.
- The appliance must not be immersed into water or other liquids. Should it get wet, it must be wiped off immediately.
- This appliance can be used by children and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way by a person responsible for their safety and they understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Do not place the appliance on or near hotplates, open fire etc.
- The appliance is not for outdoor use.
- The appliance must not be used if it has been dropped on the floor, or if it is obvious that the appliance is damaged.
- Use only new batteries of the correct size. Used batteries should always be removed, as they may leak chemicals which may damage the circuits of the appliance.
- The batteries must be removed from the appliance before it is scrapped.
- In the event of battery leakage, prevent skin contact and dispose batteries according to local law.
- This appliance is intended for domestic use only.
- If the appliance is used for other purposes than intended, or is it not handled in accordance with the instruction manual, the full responsibility for any consequences will rest with the user. Any damages to the product or other things are not covered by the warranty.
Battery information
This scale operates on 13 volt CR2032 lithium battery. There is a strip under the lithium battery cover to prevent battery drain in shipping. Please remove the strip before continuing with these instructions. Replace the battery when the Low Battery icon “Lo” appears on the upper left side of the display, or the readings grow dim or irregular. To replace the battery:
- Use one 3 volt CR2032 lithium battery.
- Remove the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the scale.
- Remove the old battery from the compartment.
- Place the new battery with the “+” sign up into the battery compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover.
NOTE: Please recycle or dispose of batteries per local regulations.
WARNING: Batteries may pose a choking hazard. Do not let children handle
batteries.
General Weighing Operation
- Place the scale on a hard, level surface.
- Press the /TARE button to turn the scale on. The display will turn on, show “88888”, then zero when it is ready for use. If the display does not show zero, press the /TARE button to reset the scale to zero.
- Your scale is set at the factory to weigh in pound/ounces. To switch between pound/ounces (lb oz), and grams (g), press the “UNIT” button.
- Place the item to be weighed on the center of the platform. The weight will display. As you add weight, the weight displayed increases.
- The scale will turn off automatically after approximately 1 minute of non-use or if there is no change in weight after approximately 3 minutes. Press and hold the /TARE button to turn the scale off manually.
Tare Operation
If you wish to weigh ingredients in a bowl or other container (not included). In this case, you will need to tare, or offset, the weight of the bowl so that only the weight of the ingredients is displayed.
- Choose a container that will safely balance on the platform without tipping or falling. Do not use a heavy container, as this might reduce the maximum capacity of the scale.
- While the scale is off, place the empty container on the scale platform. Turn the scale on. The display will turn on, show “88888” and then zero. The weight of the container has been zeroed out.
- Add the ingredient to be weighed. The weight of the ingredient alone will display.
- When weights have been tared out, the display will show a negative number when the items are removed from the scale. To reset the scale back to zero for a new measurement, press the / TARE button. The scale resets to zero.

This warranty period begins on the day the product is purchased or delivered. Champion Nordic has no obligation to repair or replace products that are not accompanied by a valid proof of purchase. This warranty applies only to products purchased and used for home use and does not cover damage resulting from abuse, failure to comply with the instructions from Champion Nordic, cases in which the product has been modified or subjected to unauthorized repair, improper packaging on the part of the owner, normal wear and tear, or improper handling on the part of a transport company.
Correct Disposal of this product
This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed with other
household wastes throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the
environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it
responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources.
