WHAT’S IN THE BOX?
INSTALLING THE CONTROLLER BATTERIES (not included)

CHARGING THE SHOX RECON BATTERY
- charge the drone battery fully before first use
- use the usb charger to charge the drone battery. when the usb charger is plugged into a usb power source the charger light will glow red. when the battery is fully charged, the charger will stop glowing red.
NOTE: this charger Is exclusive to the shoX recon. do not use It with any other devices.
INSTALLING SPARE BLADES
the shoX recon comes with replaceable spare blades in case the original blades become damaged.
- please make sure to match the spare blades to the originals when installing. See marking on the blade to match.
- use the screwdriver to unscrew the damaged blade and remove ii to install the replacement blade. make sure to secure screw the replacement blade in place.
- make sure to use the correct replacement blades for each side. incorrect blade placement will affect the drone’s flight and control.
INSTALLING BLADE PROTECTORS
- install all 4 blade protectors before flying the drone. failure to do so could result in serious damage to the blades and drone.
- insert blade protectors as shown below and make sure they are firmly in place

USING THE APP
- download and install the “shoX recon” app from the app store or google play store, depending on your device. go to the app store/google play store, search for’ shoX recon’ app and download to your device. once the app Is downloaded you are able to fly the shoX recon with the controller and have five (first person view) or control the flight of the drone with the app itself.
- turn on the wifi on your device and ensure the drone is switched on. enable your devices’ wifi. turn on the drone. once you see, ‘shoX recon’ app appear as a wifi connection option, select this, then go straight to the “shoX recon” app. once the app is open, on the home page, push the ·calibrate” Outzen and then the ·start” Outzen on the home screen. the drone lights will be flashing. once the drone lights stop flashing you will be paired. you will notice the view on your device will be that of the drone’s camera.
the order in which you ‘pair’ the drone is important. if you want to fly the drone with the controller, then turn on the drone and controller and pair these together before turning on your wifi to connect the app. once these are paired, you can turn on your wifi and connect the drone. to fly the drone with the app, pair the drone with the app first. then the app becomes the controller and the controller is not able to be used. see controls below:

NOTE: when using the ‘shoX recon” APP to fly/control the shoX recon, the
flying range is 30m.
NOTE: the optical lens is not a camera. It functions only as a
positioning system.
FLYING PRECAUTIONS
- the drone will not take-off if the battery is low or flat
- flying the drone with a chipped or broken blade can cause more damage and/or injury
- remove the drone battery from the drone when not in use
- remove batteries from the controller when not in use
- it is strongly recommended
GETTING STARTED
- ensure all drone and controller batteries are fully charged and correctly inserted.
- ensure the drone legs and blade protectors are attached correctly.
pairing the drone to the controller:
- plug in the drone battery, turn the drone on and place on flat surface. drone lights will be flashing.
- turn on the controller. the controller will beep once. move the left control stick up and down. once the drone lights stop flashing, pairing is complete.
NOTE: it is recommended to calibrate drone (press calibration button once in app) after the pairing the process and prior to flight.
FLYING INSTRUCTIONS
after successfully pairing the shoX recon with the controller, complete the following steps before starting your drone:
-
setting headless mode flight direction
as shown in figure 1, pull the two control sticks to the bottom left at the same time. the lights on the drone will flash slowly to signify that this step is successful. please see “headless mode” operation on page 8 for flight instructions. -
calibrating the gyroscope
place the drone on a flat, even surface. as shown in figure 2, pull the 2 control sticks to the bottom right at the same time. the lights on the drone will flash slowly to signify that this step is successful.
NOTE: the gyroscope may require recalibration if the drone has been dropped or experienced any hard collisions.
FINE TUNING
MODE SETTINGS
the shoX recon has 3 speed modes: low speed, medium speed, high speed.
low speed: this setting is recommended for beginner drone pilots. to select this mode, press the “speed setting” button on the controller until you hear one beep to signify that you are in “low speed” mode.
medium speed: this setting is recommended for novice drone pilots. to select this mode, press the “speed setting” button on the controller until you hear two beeps to signify that you are in “medium speed” mode.
high speed: this setting is recommended for expert drone pilots. to select this mode, press the “speed setting” button on the controller until you hear three beeps to signify that you are in “high speed” mode.
HEADLESS MODE
headless mode will allow you to use a different flying direction for the drone, which is the direction the controller is facing, as opposed to the direction the front camera is facing. this direction will remain the forward and backwards motion of the drone, as well as the side to side motion, regardless of drone’s camera facing (see page 9).
after initialling headless mode, the lights on the drone will start flashing. this is to signify that headless mode has been activated. this also sets the direction of headless mode, which is the direction the controller is facing. to exit headless mode, press the “headless mode” button again.
OUT-OF-RANGE PROTECTION
the shoX recon will start a slow landing procedure should ii lose signal with the controller or app, to reduce the risk of an accidental fall or loss of the drone. loss of signal between the control method and drone can occur under these circumstances:
– the remote control loses power or the app is closed or crashes
– Obstacles between the control method and drone interfere with and block the
signal
– the signal is interrupted by electromagnetic waves
– the drone is outside of the control range
EMERGENCY STOP
in the event of a hard collision or crash, the drone will engage emergency stop and automatically shut down. this is to prevent any further potential damage to the drone and/or object of collision. please be mindful of this when flying the drone at higher altitudes, because the drone will fall in the event of an emergency stop and could sustain damage and/or potentially damage anything it falls on.
