Safety Notes

• The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
• Use the product for its intended purpose only.
• Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating, and only use it in a dry environment.
• Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters or other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
• Keep this product, as all electrical products, out of the reach of children!
• Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specifications.
• Do not use the product in areas where the use of electronic devices is not permitted.
• Do not use the product in moist environments and avoid splashes.
• Do not place the product near interference fields, metal frames, computers, TVs, etc. Electronic devices and window frames can negatively affect the product’s functionality.
• Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
• Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
• Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due to the risk of suffocation.
• Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
• Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.

Warning – Batteries

• When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and – markings) and insert the batteries accordingly. Failure to do so could result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
• Only use batteries (or rechargeable batteries) that match the specified type.
• Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polar contacts.
• Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.
• Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of a different type or make.
• Remove the batteries from products that are not being used for an extended period (unless these are being kept ready for an emergency).
• Do not short-circuit batteries.
• Do not charge batteries.
• Do not throw batteries in a fire.
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic, environmentally harmful heavy metals.
• Immediately remove and dispose of dead batteries from the product.
• Avoid storing, charging or using the device in extreme temperatures and extremely low atmospheric pressure (for example, at high altitudes).

Getting started

Inserting the batteries
• Open the battery compartment (I) and remove the battery holder. Insert three AAA batteries with the correct polarity and slide the battery holder into the battery compartment. Close the battery compartment (I).
• Insert the battery holder as indicated in the picture.

Replacing the battery
• Open the battery compartment (I) and remove the battery holder. Remove and properly dispose of the depleted batteries, and insert three new AAA batteries with the correct polarity. Then close the battery compartment cover.

Low battery capacity
When the battery symbol (7) appears on the display, it indicates that the battery capacity is very low. Replace the batteries immediately.

Mounting
Use the base (L) to position the alarm clock on a level surface.

Operation

Note: Hold the + button (F) or the – button (G) to select the values faster

Basic and manual settings

Automatic setting using the DCF signal Once you have inserted the batteries, the display is switched on, an acoustic signal sounds and the alarm clock automatically starts searching for a DCF radio signal. During the search, the radio icon (17) will flash. This process can take 3 to 5 minutes.

• When the wireless signal is received, the date and time are automatically set.
• If the station still does not receive a signal, press and hold the – button (G) for approx. 3 seconds to start the manual search for the DCF signal. The radio icon (17) starts to flash.

Note – Time settings

• The search process takes around 7 minutes. If the search fails, it ends and is repeated at the next full hour. The radio icon 8) goes out.
• In the meantime, however, you can set the time and the date manually.
• The clock automatically continues to search for the DCF signal on a daily basis (between 1 am and 5 am) to correct any deviations. If the signal is received successfully, the manually set time and date are overwritten.
• Press and hold the – button (G) again for approx. 3 seconds to stop the manual search for the DCF radio signal.

Note – Summer time
The clock automatically switches to summer time S appears on the display as long as summer time is activated.

Note – Time zone

• The DCF signal can be received over long distances, but always transmits the current Central European Time in Germany. Make sure you set the time difference in countries with another time zone.
• If you are in Moscow, for example, the time is 3 hours later than in Germany. This means that you should set +3 for the time zone. The clock then automatically sets the time to 3 hours ahead after receiving the DCF signal or according to the manually set time.

Manual settings

• Press and hold the – button (G) for approximately 3 seconds to stop the search for the DCF signal. The radio symbol (17) goes out and you can set the time manually.
• Press and hold the Mode button (E) for approximately 3 seconds to make the following settings one after the other:
Year, month, day, hour, minute, 24-h/12-h format, time zone (+/- 12) and language
• To select the individual values, press the + button (F) or the – button (G), and confirm each selection by pressing the Mode button (E).
• Press the MODE button (E) immediately to adopt the set value displayed and skip ahead.
• If you do not make an entry for 20 seconds, you automatically exit Settings mode.

Note – Day of the week
You can choose from German (GE), English (EN), Danish (DA), Dutch (DU), French (FR), Italian (IT) and Spanish (SP) for the day of the week display.

Alarm clock

Setting the alarm times
This alarm clock allows you to set two different alarm times with a progressively louder alarm signal.

• Press and hold the ALARM button (H) for approximately 3 seconds to set the time of the alarm displayed. The hours display begins to flash.
• Press the + button (F) or the – button (G) to select the hour for the alarm time, and confirm your selection by pressing the ALARM button (H). The minutes display begins to flash.
• Repeat the process to set the minutes for the alarm time.
• Repeat the process to set the second alarm time.
• If you do not make an entry for 20 seconds, you automatically exit Settings mode.
• Activate the alarm by pressing the corresponding slide switch 1 or 2 on the outside of the alarm clock. If the alarm is activated, the red indicator light (C + D) is visible, and the alarm symbol 1 and/or 2 will appear in the display.

Alarm mode exit/snooze function

• If the alarm is triggered, the alarm symbol / will begin to flash and an alarm will sound.
• Press any button (except the SNOOZE/LIGHT button M)) to stop the alarm.
• Otherwise, it will stop automatically after 2 minutes.

Note – Snooze function
While the alarm signal is sounding, press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button (7) to activate the snooze function. The alarm symbol and will begin to flash. The alarm signal will be stopped for 5 minutes, after which it will sound again.

Temperature
• Press the – button (G) to switch the temperature display (8) between °C and °F.
• Press the + button (F) to display the minimum/maximum temperature and humidity.

Backlight
If you press the LIGHT/SNOOZE button (M), the display lights up for approximately 10 seconds.

Care and Maintenance
Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Make sure that water does not get into the product.
