Quick Start Guide

Welcome to your FireBoard Spark

FireBoard Spark automatically turns on when you extend the Thermocouple Probe or press the Function Button. This guide helps get you up and running.

Device & Settings Menu

To access the device menu, long-press the Function Button on the side of the device. Single-button presses toggle between menu selections, while long button presses confirm selections.

Getting Started

Getting up and running with the FireBoard Spark is intuitive. As soon as you extend the Instant-Read Thermocouple Probe or connect an external temperature probe, the device begins reading and displaying temperatures. It’s really that simple!

Key Features

Haptic Feedback
Get instant haptic feedback to indicate a successful instant-read has been captured. Recently captured instant reads will be displayed down the left side of the device display. NFC Scanner Scanning an NFC tag with the Spark allows you to wirelessly apply NFC labels to each of your instant-read temperatures.
SyncMode
Setup your Spark to act as a remote monitor to your other FireBoard devices. This can be done in the FireBoard Mobile App settings.
Magnetic Enclosure
The Spark has built-in magnets, allowing you to store your device on a refrigerator, a grill, or any other metal surface.
Cloud Connected
Remotely monitor your cooking sessions, configure notifications, and manage and share your sessions – all via the FireBoard Mobile App or FireBoard Cloud Dashboard.

Want the same functionality as the FireBoard Mobile App from your desktop? Visit fireboard.io to monitor your temperatures, configure notifications, and view session history all from a desktop web browser.

FireBoard Labs provides a 1-year limited warranty on the FireBoard thermometer and a 6-month limited warranty on all temperature probes. Additional warranty information can be viewed at fireboard.com/warranty.
The FireBoard Spark can utilize “100K Thermistors” temperature probes. Specific ratings and specifications for FireBoard Temperature Probes can be found at  fireboard.com/probes.

Additional Information

Cleaning
The Spark is rated for IP66 and as such can be cleaned with light water spray without risk of damage. Further, the Spark is certified by NSF which includes “easily cleanable”  standards to allow for food residue, oil, and dirt to be easily cleaned away from smooth surfaces. We encourage gentle cleaning with soap and water but caution against full submersion. Also please note Spark is not dishwasher safe.

Warning
The NSF is an independent organization that provides standards for products potentially used in a commercial kitchen setting. These standards include physical details about the product to ensure it is easily cleanable; additionally, they ensure the materials used in the product are food safe. The accuracy of the product is also tested independently by  NSF to ensure the performance meets the required standards. The Spark thermometer NSF certification can be found online by searching here: nsf.org/certified- products-systems.

Calibration & NIST Certificate
Each Spark is calibrated at FireBoard Labs headquarters using NIST traceable, calibrated equipment. The NIST Calibration Certificate included with each Spark thermometer shows details about the test conditions and procedure used as well as the specific test results for each particular unit. Our testing standards and calibration procedure ensure each Spark thermometer ships within our specified accuracy specifications.
