OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

• When any abnormality/failure occurs, stop using the product immediately and disconnect the power plug.
• Do not alter the plug in any way.

Get to know your Smart Plug

Light indicators

• Quick blinking blue (twice per second): EZ mode configuration is initiated.
• Slow blinking blue (once every 3 seconds): AP mode configuration is initiated.
• Solid blue: The Smart Plug is connected to the Wi-Fi network.
• Off: The Smart Plug is switched off and no Wi-Fi network.

Set up and Use

1. Power on the plug while ensuring that the phone is connected to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

2. Search for “BLACK+DECKER HOME” in the App Store or Google Play or scan below the OR code to download and install the app.

3. Please click the “Register” button to register if you download it for the first time.

4. If you already have an account, click the “Login” button.

5. Open up the app’s ” page, click the “+” on the upper right corner of the page.

6. Select “Plug” on the device list page

7. Network access settings Input the WIFI password, pay attention to connect 2.4G network environment, we temporarily do not support SG network.
   There are two config mode EZ mode and AP mode.
   

8. EZ mode

9. Ensure the indicator light flashing quickly (twice a second) which indicates that the device is in EZ mode which allows you to connect.

10. Please press and hold the power button for 6 seconds, till the indicator light flashing quickly. Click the “Confirm indicator blinks rapidly” button on the page to start configuration.
    AP Mode

11. Choose the “AP Mode” in the upper right corner

12. Ensure the indicator light flashing slowly (once every 3 seconds) which indicates that the device is in AP mode.
    Please press and hold the power button for 6 second, till the indicator light flashing slowly.

13. After the indicator light flashes slowly, click the confirmation button on the page to connect 2.4G network.

14. Then click “Connect Now” to connect to the hotspot of the device “SL_b+d- xxxx”.

15. Follow the in-app instructions to connect the smart plug to your Wi-Fi network. Once the configuration is completed successfully, the indicator light will turn to solid blue and the device will be added to the “Device List”.

17. You can turn on/off your device by typing on  the switch logo.

18. On the schedule/timer page, you can set the devices on or off at a specific time as you want.

19. Check Usage On the “Electric” page, you can view and track energy consumption of your smart plug.

20. Others

21. Click the ” ” button in the upper right corner of the plug control page to enter the “More” page.

22. Device Sharing: Input the account which has registered for “BLACK+DECKER HOME” to share the devices with friends and family.

23. Device Info: You can check: Device ID, Wifi signal strength, IP address, Mac address and device time zone in here.

24. Create Group: The page will automatically display the added device with the same model after clicking it, different models cannot be created to a group.

25. Send Feedback: If the device encountered and issues, you can submit it here.

26. Check for Firmware Update: You can check whether there is firmware that needs to be updated.

27. Remove Device: If the device is no longer in user or offline, you can click to remove it and add it again.

28. Create Group
    Click “Create Group” devices that have been added and have the same model number will be displayed on the page after selecting the devices that you want to create a group, click on “Confirm” in the upper right corner to save the group name.

29. Device Sharing
    Click “Add” enter the phone number or email which you want to share, then click “Confirm” to complete sharing. You must have registered APP then can be shared successfully.

30. Work with Alexa/Google Assistant
    Use BLACK+DECKER HOME app to pair your smart Plug with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for hands-free experience.

31. Click the ” “button in the upper right corner of the plug control pahgge to enter the “More” page.

32. Select Alexa or Google Assistant under Third-party Control.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Review this table to find do-it-yourself solutions for minor performance problems. Any other service needed should be performed by qualified service agent.

Three-Year Limited Warranty

CT Nova warrants to the original consumer purchaser only that this product and the component parts thereof will be free from defects in workmanship and materials. CT Nova will, repair or replace, at its sole option and discretion, this product or any defective parts.

CT Nova’s liability hereunder shall be limited to repair or replacement of the defective part or parts, and such correction shall constitute a fulfillment of all of CT Nova’s warranties hereunder. This limited 3-year warranty is only valid for the original consumer purchaser in limited jurisdictions and is not transferrable.

This limited 3-year warranty will automatically terminate if this product is sold or otherwise transferred to another party. The product must be purchased from CT Nova or an authorized dealer or the warranty is void. This limited 3-year warranty is valid only for products purchased and utilized in specific jurisdictions.
