RANGEXTD 30579 Wi-Fi Range Extender
Introduction
RangeXTD is best used on Repeater Mode, which extend your existing Wi-Fi
signal to “dead zone” in your home or workplace.
On Router Mode, RangeXTD can be used as a Wi-Fi router when wired to your
modem, or on AP Mode when wired to your existing wireless router.
RangeXTD supports 2.4GHz WIFI connection and speeds of up to 300Mbps. It
includes two built-in antennas which provide optimal signal strength/
RangeXTD’s stable technology automatically avoids channel conflicts by using
its own channel selection feature.

WPS Solution:
Press once to start WPS mode, press and hold WPS button for 6 seconds to
activate WPS search mode on your device (On Repeater Mode)
Reset Pinhole:
Press and hold 3 seconds to reset the device.

GETTING STARTED
WIRELESS REPEATER MODE
RangeXTD copies and boosts the existing wireless signal to extend the internet coverage. This model is especially useful to eliminate dead zones over a large area. This mode is ideal for large houses, officers, warehouses or other spaces where the existing Wi-Fi signal is weak.
WIRELESS AP MODE
The device is connected to a wired network, then transforms the void internet access to a wireless one so that multiple devices can share except. This model is ideal when there is interference between rooms. Extend the wired connection from the router to the Range Extender D in the affected area to gain Wi-Fi access in that area.
ROUTER MODE
RangeXTD is connected to a DSL or cable modem and works as a regular wireless router. This model is ideal for an area where internet access from the DSL or cable modem is available for one user but more connections are needed.
Configuring the Wi-Fi Repeater Mode
Configure via WPS Button
This is the easiest way to configure the RangeEXD. First, check whether your wireless router supports WPS. For further details please read the operating manual for your wireless router. If your router does not have a WPS button, skip this page and follow the next page “Configure via Web Browser”
Steps
- The mode selector on the RangeXTD must be set to the ‘Repeater’ position for repeater mode.
- Plug the RangeXTD into a wall socket. Turn on the device.
- Press the WPS button on the RangeXTD for 1-2 seconds. The WPS LED will flash slowly for approximately 2 minutes.
- Within these two minutes, press and hold the WPS button on your wireless router for 2-3 seconds.
The RangeXTD will then automatically connect to your wireless router and copy the wireless key settings. The password for range STD will be the same as the one for your router. After your finish rebooting go to the Wi-Fi setting on your smart device to connect to the new SSID.
Configure via Web Browser
If your wireless router does not support WPS, you can configure the Wi-Fi repeater mode by other connecting it with your smart device via the included ethernet cable or by connecting wirelessly.
Configure the Wi-Fi Repeater Mode Wirelessly
- The mode selector must be set to the ‘Repeater’ position for repeater mode. Plug the RangeXTD into a wall socket. Turn the device on.
- Click on the network icon to access the Wi-Fi setting on your smart device. Look for the name RangeXTD to connect to. Click on the ‘Connect’ button and wait for a few seconds.
- When connected, open your web browser and enter 192.168.7.234 in browser address box. This number is default IP address for this device.
- The login screen will appear. Enter the default password ‘admin’ then click LOGIN.
- After login click on the ‘Repeater’ button to start the setup.
- From the list, select your Wi-Fi SSID. Then key in your router’s password. You are also able to give your RangeXTD repeater a new name if you wish to.
When the information is entered, click on the ‘Apply’ button to configure and reboot the device. After the reboot, simply connect to the new Wi-Fi SSID.
Configure the Wi-Fi Repeater Mode with the Ethernet Cable
- Plug the RangeXTD into a wall socket. Turn it on. Connect your computer/laptop to the RangeXTD with the Ethernet Cable.
- Follow steps 3 to 6 for configuration.
CONFIGURING THE WIRELESS AP MODE
Use the AP Mode to obtain a ‘wireless access point’. You will contact wirelessly to the RangeXTD in this mode. You can also use this mode to make a non-wireless-enabled router into a wireless-enabled router.
STEPS
- The mode selector must be set to the ‘AP’ position for Access Point Mode.
- Plug the RangeXTD into a wall socket. Turn it on, connect your router to the RangeXTD with the Ethernet cable.
- When connected, open your web browser and enter 192.168.7.234 in the browser address box. This number is the default IP address for this device.
- The login screen below will appear. Enter the default password ‘admin’, then click ‘LOGIN’.
- After logging in, you will see the web page displayed below, click on the ‘AP’ button to start the setup process.
- The message will be displayed on your browser. Enter RangeXTD’s wireless information. It’s recommended that you rename the SSID, choose an Authenticated Mode, and create a Wi-Fi Password.
