GENERAL WARNINGS

  • This avalanche transceiver does not provide protection against avalanches.
  • The manual supplied with this device is a quick reference guide. Please refer to the full instruction manual at www.ortovox.com
  • Before using this avalanche transceiver, you must have read and understood all the instructions, and familiarized yourself with the device, including all its features and limitations, and understand and accept the risks involved with its use.
  • Neglecting to do this, even if it is just one part of the instructions, can lead to severe injury or even death.
  • The device must not be opened by consumers or unauthorized third parties.
  • Never store the device in temperatures outside the recommended temperature range for storage of -25° C to +70° C.
  • Risk of non-transmission in standby mode. Standby mode is only to be used as an alternative to switching the device off during a rescue scenario, and must never be applied during normal operating circumstances in terrain where there is a risk of avalanches.

WARNING ABOUT LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES
  • This device contains a lithium-ion battery. Please observe the following very carefully:
  • Do not use the device or leave it near a heat source, like an open fire or radiator.
  • Do not leave the device somewhere hot (e.g. direct sunlight, or in a car on a hot day). The device could overhe-at, explode or catch fire, and/or its performance be affected and its service life reduced.
  • If the device emits an odor, becomes hot, seems deformed or abnormal in any way during use, charging or storage, immediately remove the charging cable and place the device in a sealable container, such as a metal box.
  • Only charge the battery using the supplied USB charging cable. The voltage output of the charger must not exceed 5V.
  • Only use an EC/UL tested charger with Class II protection (double insulated against dangerous voltages). Do not leave the unit unattended during charging.
  • When shipping the device, you must comply with the applicable legal regulations and declare it as hazardous goods. Note: Stricter regulations may apply when shipping a device with a defective battery.

DISPOSAL

  • At the end of its service life, this product must not be disposed of with regular waste, as it contains substan-ces that could be harmful to health and the environment.
  • It must be recycled at a specialized facility for recycling electronic devices. The transceiver can be returned to the retailer for free of charge disposal. Follow the applicable disposal laws and regulations in your country.
