PROTECTIVE INSERT FOR SELECTED ORTOVOX BACKPACKS DURABLE AND MULTI-IMPACT
CE SYMBOL: The CE symbol on the safety equipment demonstrates the product’s conformity with the health and safety requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 – Annex II, which requires the use of the CE symbol. The protective devices are in fact to be considered as 2nd Category PPE, thus providing protection against medium risks.
THE LABELLING ON THE PROTECTOR IS TO BE READ AS FOLLOWS:
CE: European conformity symbol
SC-1/12 (example): Product identification number
1621-2:2014 : Technical reference standard
PICTOGRAM FOR MOTORCYCLING WITH THE TYPE OF PROTECTOR:
CB = central back protector, and level of protection (1); Information
regarding the size range (distance between waist & shoulder);
INTENDED USE: These protectors have been designed for use by
motorcyclists but shall be used together with other appropriate protective
equipment.
LEVEL OF PROTECTION: The protectors have been tested and certified
according to the European Standard 1621-2:2014 by Ricotest, Via Tione 9,
I-37010 Pastrengo (VR), Italy, Notified Body Nr. 0498. The table below shows
the permitted residual force values of the two levels of protection according
to the standard.
PROTECTION LEVEL: 1 TOTAL AVERAGE LEVEL: ≤ 18 kN
MAXIMUM INDIVIDUAL VALUE: ≤ 24 kN
PROTECTIVE EFFECT: When used and aligned correctly, the protector offers a certain amount of protection against blunt trauma. Additionally, it can reduce or prevent injuries such as abrasions and bruises in the area which it covers. Be aware that no back protector can offer full protection against injury!
ATTENTION: The protector does not provide protection against injuries that are caused by over-stretching, bending or twisting. It can therefore not completely rule out spinal injuries. Warning: no scapula protection in case of central back protector.
SAFETY NOTE: The protectors must be corrected aligned in the pockets provided. Please note the labelling on the protectors. The protective effect of the protectors may be reduced by temperatures lower than +5°C. The protectors must be regularly checked for visible damage, particularly after an impact; If damaged, they should be replaced. Alterations or incorrect use may significantly reduce their protective effect.
FIT/ERGONOMICS: When choosing your protector, make sure you select the correct size. One single size cannot in fact fit all body dimensions (height and shape). Protectors that are too small do not provide sufficient protection and protectors that are too big may restrict movement or cause interference with the helmet and therefore pose a risk.
CLEANING: The protectors should be removed from backpack before washing or cleaning. Dirt can be removed with a damp cloth.
STORAGE: Keep cool and dry. No direct sunlight. No contact with chemicals. Do not put heavy weights on the protectors. The protectors do not contain any harmful substances and can be disposed of in household rubbish. If handled appropriately, the average product life is around 5 years.
