| The correct way to insert the Nasanita Nose Butterfly®
---|---
| The correct position for your Nasanita Nose Butterfly®

  1. Ergonomically shaped nose clip made of high-quality, well- tolerated titanium.
  2. Stabilising wings made of medical- grade, ultrapure silicon rubber. Suitable for allergy sufferers!
  3. High wear comfort through special openings for optimum secretion discharge.

Important information for first-time use

The Nasanita Nose Butterfly ® is a one-size-fits-all device that is suitable for all shapes and sizes of nose. It is specially contoured to ensure optimum stabilisation.
Since the anatomical structure of the nose can vary from one individual to another, we recommend that your doctor or a qualified healthcare professional carries out the initial fitting of your Nose Butterfly ® . Adjustments should only be made when the Nose Butterfly ® is in place in the nose. This will prevent the bridge from becoming deformed, which could affect the stabilisation function of the Nose Butterfly ® . If you are uncertain whether you are using the Nasanita Nose Butterfly ® correctly or whether it is correctly adjusted, get your doctor or a qualified healthcare professional check how you are using it. If it is incorrectly adjusted, the Nose Butterfly ® may not prove fully effective or it may not fit properly.
After the individual fitting, the Nasanita Nose Butterfly ® should be left in this form.
Important: do not bend the titanium bridge!

Safe and easy to use

When you insert the Nasanita Nose Butterfly ® into your nose, you may feel a slight pressure or tension initially. Normally, these feelings of discomfort disappear within a very short time. In rare cases, the following side effects have been observed when using the Nasanita Nose Butterfly ® : irritations such as tingling and burning sensations in the atrium of the nose with increased secretion, slight pressure sores, incipient ulceration and acute nosebleeds. If these side effects occur, it may be a good idea to alter the basic setup of the Nasanita Nose Butterfly ® . In this case, please contact your doctor or a qualified healthcare professional.

Please bear the following points in mind … on first-time use:
Thoroughly rinse the Nose Butterfly® with warm running water before you use it for the first time. Then carefully dry it!
… before each use:
Before use, you should check each time to make sure the Nose Butterfly® is complete and intact. Please only use Nose Butterfly® devices in sound condition.
Prepare your nose beforehand by thoroughly cleaning it.

Easy to apply

This is how to use the Nasanita Nose Butterfly®

When the Nasanita Nose Butterfly® is used for the first time, it should be left in its present form and inserted into the nose unchanged. Ideally, your doctor will show you how to do this: hold the Nose Butterfly® with the u-shaped titanium bridge away from you. Using your thumb and index finger, open the silicone wings and then guide them into the nostrils as illustrated. Once the silicone wings are settled in the nasal wings, push the middle of the silicone wings in the nose as far as possible to the tip of the nose.

Correct fitting of your Nasanita Nose Butterfly®

The Nose Butterfly® is correctly fitted in the nose if the open side of the u-shaped titanium bridge is pointing towards the tip of the nose, the bridge lies flat on the columella (lower part of the nasal septum) and the edges of the two silicone wings end exactly at the edge of the nose.
The Nose Butterfly is incorrectly fitted if the u-shaped titanium bridge does not lie flat on the columella and the silicone wings jut out over the nasal wings or are pushed over the nasal valve inside the nose. In this case, the Nose Butterfly  will not bring about any improvement in nasal breathing.

You should observe the following:

For hygienic reasons, please make sure that each family member uses his or her own Nasanita Nose Butterfly ® . Always keep the product out of the reach of children because young children could swallow it by accident.NASANiTA nasal

For your safety
The Nasanita Nose Butterfly ® should not be used in a sore nose or if there are excessive watery nasal secretions.
As far as possible, avoid using any other products in the nose (e.g. nasal spray or nasal ointment) at the same time as the Nasanita Nose Butterfly ® , because this could adversely affect the shelf-life and the fit of your Nose Butterfly ® .
Important: If you use the Nasanita Nose Butterfly ® along with a nightly non- invasive respiratory therapy, full face masks must not be used – only nose masks!

Always ready for use

You decide how long to wear the device
Your Nasanita Nose Butterfly ® consists of ultrapure, well-tolerated materials. No irritation or sensitisation is to be expected, even when used over a prolonged period. So simply wear the device for as long as it is useful and meets your needs. A period of about 5 to 8 hours at night is recommended or for as long as you need improved nasal breathing (e.g. during sport).

Maximum period of use
Thanks to its high-quality materials, the Nasanita Nose Butterfly® is relatively durable. Nevertheless, it should be replaced regularly. With frequent use, we recommend using  the device for not more than 6 months before replacing it.

How to care for your Nasanita Nose Butterfly®

Before and after each use, the Nasanita Nose Butterfly® should be thoroughly cleaned using warm, running water. Stubborn traces of secretions must be removed mechanically using a brush or by rubbing or similar.

Important: remember to dab the device off using a lint-free cloth!
It is normally not necessary to sterilise or disinfect the device. Should you, nevertheless, wish to sterilise or disinfect the Nasanita Nose Butterfly ® , please use standard heating methods (e.g. boiling or autoclaving) or disinfectants that can usually be used on the skin and mucous membranes.
When the Nasanita Nose Butterfly ® is not in use, you should keep it in safe and hygienic conditions in the handy Nasanita ® Box. Leave the box open until your Nose Butterfly ® has completely dried.
