SETUP, OPERATION & PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

SETUP

  • Prior to each use, visual inspection (See Pg. 5) shall be made to the device by checking for abnormal conditions, such as cracked welds, leaks, and damaged, loose, or missing parts.
  • Consult the vehicle owner’s manual to determine the location of lift points.
  • Be sure to set the vehicle in park with the emergency brake on and wheels securely chocked.
  • Be sure that the vehicle and the jack are on a hard, level surface.
  • A few drops of air lubricant should be place into the inlet of the lift control valve.
  • Once air is connected, squeeze the air control valve for 3 to 5 seconds to distribute lubricant within the system.
Please Note: To extend the life of your product, an in-line air dryer and oiler are recommended.

ASSEMBLY

  • Insert handle assembly into handle fork. Tighten the locking nut to prevent the handle for accidently disengaging. Be sure that the position locking rod is securely engaged before use.

WARNING: Use only the handle provided from the manufacture for this product. If the handle has excessive wear, it may not be able to disengage the release valve. Do not use this product if the handle shows these signs of wear as the jack may become stuck in the extended position. Discontinue use until a new handle can be acquired from the manufacture.

LIFTING

  • Turn the release valve clockwise to the closed position. Do not over-tighten.
  • Position the jack under the specified lift point.
  • Begin lifting by pumping the handle up and down.
  • If jack does not properly respond, follow the air bleeding steps on page 4.
  • Immediately after lifting, support the vehicle with appropriately rated jack stands.
  • Turn the release valve slowly counterclockwise to lower the vehicle onto jack stands.

LOWERING

  • Turn the release valve clockwise to the closed position. Do not over-tighten.
  • Activate the control valve to lift vehicle off jack stands.
  • Remove the jack stands. Do not get under or let anyone get under the vehicle while lowering.
  • Turn the release valve slowly counterclockwise while maintaining a safe rate of descent, to lower the vehicle onto the ground.
  • Never turn the release valve more than one-half of a turn as this will cause a rapid drop rate which could lead to injury and/or property damage.
  • After safely removed from load, ensure the ram and the handle sleeve are both fully in the down position to reduce exposure to rust and containments

MAINTENANCE

NOTICE: Use high grade hydraulic oil only. Never use brake fluid, motor oil, transmission fluid, turbine oil or any other fluids. ISO-VG22 or equivalent hydraulic oil is recommended.

CHECK AND REFILL OIL

  • With the jack in the fully lowered, level position remove the oil filler screw.
  • Proper oil level should be even with the bottom of the oil filling hole.
  • Do not overfill. Always fill with new, clean hydraulic jack oil as recommended above.
  • Reinstall oil filler screw, and then reinstall unit cover. Full replacement of oil is recommended every year for maximum life. To completely drain oil out of the system, follow step one above and then lay the jack on its side allowing the oil to drain into an appropriate container. Once completed, refill the oil reservoir as indicated in step two. Properly dispose of used oil.

LUBRICATION AND CLEANING

  • Periodically clean and lubricate all moving parts and pivot points. A periodic light coating of lubricant to all moving parts will help prevent the development of rust.

AIR VENTING PROCEDURES

  • Remove cover.
  • With the jack in the fully lowered position, release valve open, remove oil filler screw.
  • Activate the control valve for 5 – 7 seconds to help purge trapped air. Reinstall oil filler screw.
  • Proper oil level should be even with the bottom of the oil filling hole.
