**5 x Pre-filled vial

5 x Test Strip

5 x Exact Volume Pipette

  1. Remove swab from its packaging.

  2. **If testing a dry surface, pre-moisten the swab by dipping it into the recovery buffer vial.

**

  1. **Swab a minimum area of 10cm2 . Rotate the swab while swabbing the area to achieve more coverage.

**

  1. Insert swab into the recovery buffer vial. Snap off the swab handle carefully and replace lid.

  2. **Shake the recovery buffer vial for a minimum of 20 seconds.

**

  1. **Take the test strip out of its foil packaging. Place the test on a flat surface.

**

  1. **Open the recovery buffer vial.

**

  1. Take exact volume pipette and place tip into recovery buffer solution.
    Press the top bulb ONLY to draw up 0.1ml of sample into the pipette. Any excess liquid collected in the second (lower) bulb can be ignored.

  2. Press the top bulb on the pipette to release 0.1ml of sample onto the sample window of the test strip.
    Ignore excess in the second (lower) bulb.

  3. Start a timer for 25 minutes.

  4. After 25 minutes (and before 30 minutes) read your Hydrosense Legionella test.

  5. The test is composed of two lines; a test line (TL) and a control line (CL). If both lines are present, even if the test line is very faint, then Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 has been detected above the cut-off of the test kit ( >200 CFU/ per swabbed area).
    **If no test line is present at the test line position but there is a control line, then the test is negative and Legionella pneumo – phila serogroup 1 has not been detected.

**

  1. Tests without a control line, or that look like any of these tests, are invalid.

  2. **Launch the App (Available from Google Play and App Store).

  1. Select a pre-programmed location and click read test.
    Scan the barcode. The scanner will appear on screen. Read the test by matching up the outline of the Hydrosense test on the screen with the cassette.
    The App will provide you with a positive or negative result and a Hazard index from 0-10. Results can be shared via email and SMS. Results are automatically uploaded to the Hydrosense Pro portal atwww.hydrosensepro.com.

THE SMALL PRINT

Limit of Detection:
200cfu/ per swabbed area L. pneumophila sg1.

Test Operating Limits:

  • Use on samples between 10-45°C (50-113°F).
  • Do not use on systems treated with biguanide based or THPS biocides.

Specificity

  • Non-reactive with wide range of environmental bacteria
  • Weak cross reactions with other L. pneumophila sg’s and S. aureus at high concentrations.

Storage:

  • Store at room temperature (18-22°C).
  • Do not freeze.
  • Do not use after expiry date.
  • Do not use if test wrapper perforated.
