How to reset the camera

Press and hold the reset button for 10 s until you hear the beep.

How to put back the SD card cover after you remove it

Press down the cover until it is flush with the device surface and held firmly in the position so as to keep out any moisture or rain.

See the table below for meanings of camera’s LED behavior.

Set Up the Device

Scan the QR code below, search for “Imou Life” in the app store, or navigate to Support > Download Center in our official website to download and install the app.

If you already use the app, make sure that you are using the latest version.

To ensure the best possible wireless performance, please make sure there are no obstacles and electromagnetic interference between the device and the router. The app will guide you through the setup process.

Install the Camera

Make sure that the mounting surface is strong enough to hold at least three times the weight of the camera and the bracket.

  • Step 1 Peel off the mounting template and stick it to the mounting surface with ‘TOP” mark pointing up.

  • Step 2 Drill screw holes as the mounting template marks, and then insert wall anchors if installing on stucco, brick, or concrete. For wood, drywall or soft surface, wall anchors are unnecessary.

  • Step 3 Place the mounting plate and secure it with included screws. Be sure to follow the “UP” direction.

  • Step 4 Turn the mounting bracket clockwise to the camera to tighten.

  • Step 5 Attach the bracket onto the four tabs of the plate with the mark pointing up, and then slide the camera down to secure it. A click sound will indicate that the camera is locked in.

  • Step 6 Swivel to adjust the camera angle.

How to detach the camera from the mounting plate

To detach the camera, following the ( ) mark on the bracket, gently but firmly push up the bracket until it is released from the mounting plate.

Troubleshooting

Q: The device cannot boot up or work as expected.

Check the LED indicator status. If the light is not in solid green, press and hold the reset button for 10 s to reset the camera.

Q: Where are the recorded videos saved?

If you have activated the cloud storage and installed a micro SD card, the recordings will be both saved to the card and cloud. If the cloud storage is deactivated, the recordings are saved to the SD card. Videos recorded during live view or playback is saved on your phone and you can check it through Me > Local Files on the app.

Q: How to connect the camera to another Wi-Fi network?

  • If the camera is online, select Device Details WLAN to change the Wi-Fi connection on the app.
  • If the camera is offline, reset the camera, and then configure the camera again.

Q: When the micro SD card is full, how is the recorded video saved?

When the micro SD card is full, the system will overwrite the oldest recordings. Save the important information in time.

Q: The device is offline.

  • Check the indicator status:
  • Solid green: Check whether the router can connect to the Internet. If the network is connected, restart the camera. If the camera is still offline afterwards, reset the camera.
  • Flashing red: Reset the camera, and then configure the camera again.
  • Solid red: There is a problem with the camera.
  • Ensure that the camera is properly connected to power using the included power adapter.
  • Reposition the camera, router or both to improve signal strength.

Q: Connection takes too long during setup.

  • Check the Wi-Fi configuration of the router: Select the channel to auto.
  • Ensure there is a maximum distance of 5 m (16.4 ft) between the camera and the router, and the camera and the smart phone.

Batteries

Correct disposal of batteries in this product

This marking on the battery indicates that the batteries in this product should not be disposed of with other household waste at the end of their working life. Where marked, the chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb indicate that the battery contains mercury, cadmium or lead above the reference levels in Directive 2006/66/EC and its amending Directive 2013/56/EU. If batteries are not properly disposed of, these substances can cause harm to human health or the environment.

CAUTION

Do not ingest battery. Chemical Burn Hazard.

This product contains a coin cell battery. If the coin cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death.

Keep new and used batteries away from children.

If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.

If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

CAUTION

Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type.

Do not throw or immerse into water, heat to more than 100°C (212°F), repair or disassemble, leave in an extremely low air pressure environment or extremely high-temperature environment, crush, puncture, cut or incinerate.

Safety Requirement

Battery

Low battery power affects the operation of the RTC, causing it to reset at every power up. When the battery needs replacing, a log message will appear in the product’s server report. For more information about the server report, see the product´s setup pages or contact Imou support.

  • Replace only with an identical battery or a battery which is recommended by Imou.
