REVERE ELECTRIC LOTO Lockout Tagout

Lockout Tagout (LOTO)

LOTO is the process of blocking the flow of energy from a power source to equipment and keeping it blocked out while work is being done. This ensures a safe working environment for those working on the machines and prevents the machine from unexpected startup.
LOTO is essential to workplace safety. According to OSHA, 10% of the serious accidents in many industries are caused by failure to control hazardous energy. These accidents may include electrocuton, burns, crushing, cutting, lacerating, amputating, or fracturing body parts, and others.
In addition to the care and safety of your workforce, there are also financial reasons to follow LOTO. OSHA regulates compliance with LOTO. For 2018, Control of Hazardous Energy was the fith most frequently cited OSHA standards violation . Individual fines can range from thousands to tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars if someone is injured or killed.
