Quick Start Guide

- Operating a vehicle indoors CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES. Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide. This is a poison you cannot see or smell. NEVER operate vehicle inside a home or garage, EVEN IF doors and windows are Only used OUTSIDE and far away from windows, doors, and vents.
- People with pacemakers should consult their physician(s) before use. Electromagnetic fields in close proximity to heart pacemaker could cause pacemakerinterference or pacemaker Caution is necessary when near coil, spark plug cables, or distributor of running engine. Engine should be off during distributor adjustment.
- Keep clothing, hair, hands, tools, test equipment, away from all moving or hot engine parts.
- Put the transmission in PARK (for automatic transmission) or NEUTRAL(for manual transmission) and make sure the parking brake isengaged.
- Put blocks in front of and behind the drive wheels.
- Read vehicle service manual before inspecting, maintaining, or repairing a vehicle.
- Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles.
- Never leave the vehicle unattended while running tests.
- Keep a fire extinguisher suitable for gasoline/chemical/electrical fires nearby.
- Don’t connect or disconnect any test equipment while the ignition is on or the engine is running.
- This product is not a Keep it out of reach of children.
- Keep the Scan Tool dry, clean, free from oil, water or grease. Use a mild detergent on a clean cloth to clean the outside of the Scan Tool, when necessary.
- The warnings, precautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.

Monitor icons – Indicate which Monitors are supported by the vehicle under test, and whether or not the associated Monitor has run its diagnostic testing.

Vehicle icon – Indicates whether or not the Code Reader is being properly powered through the vehicle’s Data Link Connector (DLC).

Link icon – Indicates whether or not the Code Reader is linked with the vehicle’s on-board computer.

Computer icon – Indicates that the Code Reader is linked to a personal computer.

Code Reader Internal Battery icon – Indicates when the Code Reader batteries are “low” and should be replaced.

SYSTEM icon – Indicates the system with which the code is associated:
- MIL icon
- ABS icon
Retrieve Codes
Connect the Code Reader to the vehicle’s Data Link Connector (DLC).
The 16-pin DLC is usually located under the dashboard, within 12 inches of center of the panel, on the driver’s side of most vehicles. Check the vehicle’s service manual for the exact location.
Turn the ignition key “On.” DO NOT start the engine.
The Code Reader automatically links to the vehicle’s computer and retrieves stored codes, Freeze Frame data, and I/M Readiness status.
View Results
Press the DTC button to view Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and Freeze Frame Data (if available).

View OEM Enhanced Data
Press and release the SYSTEM MENU button to view OEM enhanced Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
View Live Data
Start the engine, then press and release the LD button to place the tool in “Live Data” mode.
View Vehicle Information and Reference Data
Press the M button to display the Main Menu, then make the desired selection to view vehicle information or other reference data.
Erase DTCs
Press and release the ERASE button to clear DTCs and related data from the vehicle’s computer.

The manufacturer makes every effort to assure that its products meet high quality and durability standards, and warrants to the original purchaser that this product is free from defects in materials and workmanship for the period of 90 days from the date of purchase. This warranty does not apply to damage due directly or indirectly, to misuse, abuse, negligence or accidents, repairs or alterations outside our facilities, criminal activity, improper installation, normal wear and tear, or to lack of maintenance. We shall in no event be liable for death, injuries to persons or property, or for incidental, contingent, special or consequential damages arising from the use of our product. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation of exclusion may not apply to you. THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS.
To take advantage of this warranty, the product or part must be returned to us with transportation charges prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise. If our
inspection verifies the defect, we will either repair or replace the product at our election or we may elect to refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement. We will return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
