EMERSON Wall-Mounted CO2 Sensor Installation Guide
EMERSON Wall-Mounted CO2 Sensor

Emerson specs a CO2 Sensor (P/N 210-2000) to be used in building control and anti-sweat control applications using the Emerson input boards. The CO2 sensor measures CO2, room temperature, and provides analog outputs.

The 210-2000 CO2 sensor is a non-dispersive infrared analyzer designed for measuring environmental CO2 concentration in ventilation systems and indoor spaces. Its measurement range of 0-2000 or 0-5000 ppm covers the range required to monitor compliance with ASHRAE and other ventilation efficiency standards.

The LCD display is available to provide local indication of CO2 concentration and facilitate the setup and calibration process. An adjustable setpoint relay is available for direct control and alarm applications. The microprocessor- based digital electronics and unique self-calibration algorithm improves long- term stability and accuracy.

Installation

  1. Remove the cover by pressing the tab on the bottom of the sensor while pulling outward on the bottom edge of the cover.

  2. Position the sensor vertically on the wall, 4 feet (1.5 m) above the floor. Place so that the “Install This End Up” statement on the board is in the upper right corner.
    Installation Instruction

  3. Mount the backplate onto the wall using the screws provided.

  4. Wire the backplate. Connect the wires to the screw terminals. Do not over-tighten the screws.
    Installation Instruction

  5. With the sensor base fully installed, align the top cover to mounting tabs on top of the sensor base. Swing the cover downward until it latches at the bottom.

  6. Installed the locking screw to secure cover in a closed position.

  7. The 400 ppm baseline calibration allows the sensor to be set at 400 ppm. Push and hold the calibrator button for 3 to 5 seconds. The LED will flash green. Once the push button is released, the calibration is complete and the LED is switched off.
    Installation Instruction

Mounting

  1. Mount the backplate on the wall in an appropriate location with the “Install This End Up” label positioned in the upper right corner.
  2. Wire the unit as shown (see the Wiring section on page 5).
  3. Attach the front plate.

Wiring

  1. Use Belden #8771 shielded three-conductor cable or equivalent.
  2. Connect the RED, BLACK, and WHITE wires to the screw terminals of the CO2 sensor’s connector as shown in the image below.
  3. For TEMP OUTPUT wiring connect the BLACK wires to the 0V terminal of the input board. Connect the WHITE wire to the SIG terminal of the input board. RED wire not used for TEMP OUTPUT; clip and insulate. Connect the SHIELD wire to chassis ground near the MultiFlex board.
  4. For C02 OUTPUT wiring connect the BLACK wires to the 0V terminal of the input board. Connect the WHITE wire to the SIG terminal of the input board. Connect the RED wire as described in Step 5. Connect the SHIELD wire to chassis ground near the MultiFlex board.
  5. Connect the RED wire to one side of the 24VAC power output of the P/N 640-0039 Class 2 isolated non-center tapped transformer. Connect the other side of 24VAC output from transformer to the MultiFlex 0V input terminal used for CO2 OUTPUT signal. Do not use the MultiFlex or 16AI power transformer to power the C02 sensor.
  6. Locate the input dip switch for the sensor point, and set to the OFF position (LEFT for MultiFlex, DOWN for 16AI). Refer to the input board’s user manual for locations of the input dip switches.
