INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
QA1 P/N 52865 Front Sway bar for QA1 Suspension System ’65-’72 Ford F100
TOOLS AND SUPPLIES REQUIRED
- Floor Jack
- Jack Stands
- SAE Wrench Set
- Ratchet & SAE Socket Set
- Drill with 3/8” bit
- Place sway bar mounting bracket template on the bottom side of the driver and passenger frame rail using the existing hole (or pin) in the frame. The flap on the template should fold up at the frames corner with hole markings towards the rear of the truck. (Figure 1) The single included template should be used for both sided.
- Pre-drill template mounting holes then final drill to 3/8″. (Figure 1)
- Mount sway bar to frame using provided bushing and frame brackets and 3/8″ hardware. Torque to 30 lb. ft. (Figure 2)
- Install 1/2″ jam nut onto male rod end (XMR8) all the way to the base of the rod end.
- Thread the male rod end into female rod end (XFR 8) leaving two threads between Jam nut and female rod end.
- Insert the large diameter side of the provided stud into the sway bar, securing with washer and nut.
- Install the rod end onto the post installed into the sway bar followed by the shouldered spacer and nylock nut. (Figure 3)
- Install the lower rod end connection to the lower control arm using the 1/2″ x 8″ coil-over mounting bolt. (Figure 4)
- Install SG84 beveled spacer with small diameter facing rod end followed by 1/2″ nylock nut.
- Torque the upper and lower sway bar connection to 31 lb. ft. (Figure 5)
