Product Information
The QA1 P/N 52854 ’78-’88 GM G-Body High-Clearance Front Sway Bar is an aftermarket sway bar designed to provide improved handling and stability for GM G-Body vehicles. The sway bar features a high-clearance design to reduce the risk of bottoming out on uneven surfaces. It comes with all the necessary hardware and instructions for installation.
Product Usage Instructions
-
Raise and support the vehicle with jack stands on a level surface.
-
Remove the factory sway bar (if equipped).
-
Lay the mounting bracket and sway bar on a flat surface in the orientation shown . The sway bar sticker should be upside down.
-
Install 3/8 x 1 hardware up through the mounting bracket. Note the orientation of the bracket and bar.
-
Install the bushings around the sway bar with the bushing straps over the top.
-
Attach the sway bar to the bracket with one washer and nyloc nut through the bushing straps. Loosely starting all four connections will aid in getting them started.

-
Flip the sway bar with bracket over and bring into position on the vehicle with the legs of the sway bar above the lower trailing arms.
-
Thread the four bracket bolts into the original sway bar mounting points . Do not tighten this hardware at this time.
-
Install the sway bar end links to the sway bar and control arm with the bar and control arms between the sets of bushings.
-
With the suspension compressed, tighten the sway bar end links until the bushings compress to the same diameter as the washers.
-
Tighten all 3/8 hardware to 31 lb. ft. .
It is important to read all instructions carefully and thoroughly prior to
starting installation. Products that have been installed are not eligible for
return. Use the proper jacking
locations. Death or serious injury can result if instructions are not
correctly followed. A good chassis manual, available at your local parts
store, may also aid in your installation.
