Operating Instructions

IMPORTANT

  1. Position the scale on a hard, fl at the surface where there is little vibration.
  2. Avoid strong electrical or magnetic fields.
  3. Do not use it in a location where there is an obvious change of temperature.
  4. Do not dismantle the unit. This can result in damage not covered by the warranty.
  5. Clean using a mild detergent.

POWER REQUIREMENTS
This scale operates using the included AC power adapter or four AA batteries (included). Before operating, please make sure that batteries have been inserted into the scale.
Caution:

  1. Do not use excessive force in either removing or replacing the battery cover.
  2. If the scale is not going to be used for an extended period of time, remove the batteries.

FUNCTION KEYS
“ON/OFF”: Press this button to turn the scale on or off.
“MODE”: Press this button to enter calibration modes, select units of weight, or recalibrate the scales.
“TARE”: Press this button to restore the readout to zero. Use this to subtract the weight of any container used on the scales.
“HOLD”: Press this button to keep the weighing value.
“C/R”: Switch weighing modes between Precision Mode or High Capacity Mode.
“PCS”: Quantity counting function.
Weighing:
When ready to use, turn the scale on. The display will flash for 2 or 3 seconds, and then it will register “0.00”. Once the “0.00” appears, the scale is ready for use.  Units Switch Function: Turn on the scale and wait until the screen displays “0”, and the initial unit is “kg”. Press down the “MODE” button to switch the unit. Each time you press this button the scales will switch between Kilograms (kg), Ounces (oz) and Pounds (lb). Do not place objects exceeding the capacity of the scale on the weighing platform, or the scale will read “H”. If the scale is overloaded too much then this can damage the scales and void any warranty.

Counting Function:
To activate counting mode press down the “PCS” button while in weighing mode, the scale will switch to the counting mode. Press it again, the scale will return to weighing mode.
Initialization for counting sample objects:
Every time you need to use the pieces counting function, you must initialize the different number of objects for the scale. First, press down the “PCS” button to switch the scale from weighing to counting mode, the screen will now display “0”. Then, press down the “PCS” button again to enter the sample collecting process, the screen will now display “PC-25”. This means the machine thinks there should be 25 pieces on the scale. Pressing the “PCS” button again will change the sample collecting mode to 50 pieces or 100 pieces (“PC-50” or “PC-100”). After confirming the number of the sample collected objects, putting the exact number of the sample objects on the weighing platform. Remove the sample objects from the platform and the initialization for counting sample objects procedure is finished. Now when the user places a similar weighing product on the scales it will add up the number placed on the scales as you add more.
Calibration Instructions
This scale has been calibrated before it was dispatched from the factory. But many different factors can affect the accuracy of the scales including temperature and humidity. In this case, please test the scale by placing a standard weight on the platform (a 1kg bag of sugar for example), if the positive or negative difference exceeds the difference allowed as specified in the technical specifications at the end of these instructions of the weight, then please recalibrate the scale according to the following.
Recalibration Function:
Press down the “MODE” button until the screen displays “000000”. Then remove your finger from the button and the display will change to “E-00”. Then press the “MODE” button again and the scale will be ready to recalibrate. The initial recalibrated weight is 25kg, and the screen will display “E1-25”. Each time you press the “MODE” button it will switch between the 3 recalibration options, the other two being ”E2-50” (50kg), ”E3-100” (100kg). Choose the required recalibrated weight. For example, 50kg (the screen should be displaying” E2-50”), and the put the 50kg reference weight on the scales. Wait until the screen displays “GOOD”, and then the scale turns off automatically. The scales have been successfully recalibrated.

Battery Warning

  • Use only the batteries mentioned in the manual.
  • Do not install batteries in reverse polarity.
  • Do not short-circuit or disassemble the batteries.
  • Do not expose the batteries to water.
  • Do not expose the bat t series to fire or excessive heat.
  • Batteries are prone to leakage when fully discharged. To avoid damage to the product, remove the batteries when leaving the product unattended for longer periods of the time
  • If the liquid from the batteries comes into contact with skin or
    clothing, immediately rinse with fresh water.

Troubleshooting

  • “H” The scale has exceeded its weight limit and will not register an accurate reading.
  • “-E” No display. Low power indication. Replace or readjust the batteries.
