Congratulations on selecting your new Build Your Own Microscope Kit! In order to achieve optimum performance, please follow instructions for proper use and care.

Instructions For Use:
- Place microscope on secure, flat surface.
- Set objective lens
**6**to 50x, then rotate zoom wheel**1**right to 1x. - Take included prepared pine slide and place on center of stage
**3**. Wrap included rubber bands around slide and stage. - Push button
**3**located under stage to turn on light. - Place phone, camera side down, on smartphone platform
3, over microscope eyepiece. - Turn on camera. If image is not centered, adjust position of phone. For best results, use in video mode.
- Turn focus wheel
**7**until slide is in focus. - Rotate zoom wheel
**1**toward 2x and magnification will increase. When switching objective lenses**5**, return zoom wheel to 1x.
Remove platform to use microscope without smartphone.
To make custom slides:
- Clean slides with a microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints and dust.
- Place specimen of choice (dirt, sand, leaves, flowers, etc.) on blank side.
- Using included eye dropper, put one drop of water on top of specimen to hold in place. Gently add coverslip on top of specimen.
Important: Empty and dry eye dropper after each use.
