PREFACE
Description of the User
The Smart Probe 3 is intended for use by staff within commercial kitchen environments to probe and record the temperature of food items. It is not intended for domestic use.
Explanation of Safety Warnings
Danger indicates a hazard with a high level of risk which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury.
Warning indicates a hazard with a medium level of risk which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury.
Caution indicates a hazard with a low level of risk which, if not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury.

Read and understand this manual and its safety instructions before using this product. Failure to do so can result in serious injury or death.

Description of the product
Intended Use and Reasonably Foreseeable Misuse
The Smart Probe is intended to be used as digital food temperature probe. The Smart Probe enables the taking of hot and cold food temperatures using a separately available needle as well as taking surface temperatures using the in-built Infrared sensor.
The Smart Probe shall not be used as a domestic device and is suitable only for the taking of food temperatures within a commercial kitchen environment.
The Smart Probe shall be used with the following software, original accessories and components only:
- Navitas Digital Food Safety cloud software
- Food Needle (available separately)
- Smart Probe charger
Geographical Restrictions
Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU requires that in cases of restrictions on putting into service or of requirements for authorisation of use, information available on the packaging shallallow the identification of the Member States or the geographical area within a Member State where restrictions on putting into service or requirements for authorisation of use exist and that such information shall be completed in the instructions accompanying the radio equipment.

How to Use the Product Safely
Safety information for vulnerable people
- This product is intended for professional use only. Do not use this product at home or in an untrained environment
- The product is not designed for use by children. Usage by under 18’s should be supervised by a competent, trained adult.
- This product is not to be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Never leave children unattended with the packaging material. The packaging material represents a danger of suffocation. Children frequently underestimate the dangers. Always keep children away from the packaging material.
- Be vigilant at all times, and always be careful what you are doing. Do not use electrical equipment if you are lacking in concentration or awareness, or are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Even a moment of inattentiveness can lead to serious accidents and injuries when using electrical equipment.
Safety information related to the intended use
- Use this product only for its intended use and as described in this manual.
- Use the Smart Probe within the specified performance parameters.
- Do not submerge the Smart Probe in liquid.
- Never use a damaged Smart Probe or attempt a repair yourself. Contact Navitas Digital Food Safety at https://support.navitas.eu.com for all product repairs and assistance.
- Only use the supplied charging cable.
- The charging cable is compatible with all 1 Amp USB wall plugs or sockets.
- Do not expose the Smart Probe to temperatures above +40 °C and below -10 °C.
Safety information related to the use of the product in residential areas
The Smart Probe has been tested and is compliant with safety standards for
electromechanical devices. If handled properly and according to the Safety
Instructions and the User Manual, the Smart Probe is safe to use.
Safety Information Related to the Risk of Electrocution
- Do not use or store the Smart Probe or charging cable where there is a risk it can fall into water.
- Do not attempt to retrieve a Smart Probe that has submersed in water whilst charging. Unplug immediately.
- Never use a Smart Probe or charger that has been damaged by water or suffered water ingress. Contact Navitas Digital Food Safety Ltd at https://support.navitas.eu.com for advice.
Installation safety information
- Check the Smart Probe for any damage before use. If there is any visible damage, a strong odour, or excessive overheating of components, unplug all the connections immediately and stop using the Smart Probe.
- Use the charging cable with a compatible USB charge plug in a suitable, properly installed and easily accessible mains power socket. Make sure the charging cable can be disconnected from the mains at all times.

- Read and follow the instructions regarding the installation and use in the User Manual provided at https://support.navitas.eu.com before using the Smart Probe.
- Do not drop the Smart Probe or any of its parts
Maintenance safety information
- Wipe the Smart Probe after each operation, using a damp soft cloth or disposable water-based wipe. Do not use an alcohol-based or other chemical solution on the Smart Probe screen as this can damage the protective film.
- Store the Smart Probe away from sources or heat or liquid when not in use.
- Power off the Smart Probe when not in use.
Service and repair safety information
WARNING! Risk of explosion! Do not attempt to open, modify or repair the
product. Alterations to the product and technical modifications are not
permitted.

The device has been evaluated to meet general RF exposure requirement. The device can be use d in portable exposure condition without restriction.
Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Information
This Smart probe meets the government’s requirements for exposure to radio waves. The guidelines are based on standards that were developed by independent scientific organizations through periodic and thorough evaluation of scientific studies. The standards include a substantial safety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons regardless of age or health.
FCC RF Exposure Information and Statement
The SAR limit of USA (FCC) is 1.6 W/kg averaged over one gram of tissue. Device types: Smart probe FCC ID: 2AYVU-SP3 has also been tested against this SAR limit. The highest SAR value reported under this standard during product certification for use at the body is 0.1291W/kg. This device was tested for typical portable device operations . To maintain compliance with FCC RF exposure requirements. The use of accessories that do not satisfy these requirements may not comply with FCC RF exposure requirements and should be avoided.
