Electric cooker Thank you for buying a traditional Czech product – a REMOSKA® electric cooker – which has been used in Czech kitchens since 1957 and which is still extremely popular. DESCRIPTION

  1. Glass lid The lid is made of safety glass and is designed for using the dish for cooking on a stove or similar heat source (gas, induction, electric hot plate).
  2. Lid (with heating element)
  3. Pan
  4. Stand
  5. Detachable power cable

After purchasing the product

Wash the inside properly before use

  • Remove all labels and stickers from the product if any have been placed on the product.
  • Use a mixture of water and lemon juice or 20 to 30 ml of rice vinegar in 0.5 liters of water. Pour the mixture into the pan and bring to a boil on gentle heat for 2–5 minutes. Turn the heat off and let everything cool down and then rinse and dry.
  • Dip a sponge in a mixture of 200 ml of vinegar + 20 ml of washing-up liquid + 20 g of kitchen salt and clean the inside and outside with the sponge. Let the solution work for 1–2 minutes and then rinse the pan with cold water and dry

During use

  • Always fill the pan with water to at least the “MIN” line, if this line is indicated on the product (the surface should reach at least the level indicated by this line) or with at least 0.75 litres of water or similar liquid. Do not heat the pan if there is no water, similar liquid, or food in it.
  • Fill the pan to a maximum of 2/3 to 4/5 of its height depending on the type of cooking and food to ensure that it does not overflow when boiling.
  • The handle and grips may heat up after a long period of cooking, for which reason you must always take care and wear hand protection during handling.
  • Do not heat the pan for a long period of time at a high temperature when using oil only or without food, as this may lead to deterioration of the surface sheen.
  • Do not add seasonings, salt, etc. when the food in the pan is cold, as uncooked seasonings may not dissolve entirely and there is a danger of them sticking to the bottom of the pan and causing corrosion.
  • Do not use steel pans for cooking or heating in a microwave oven as this may lead to an electrical discharge that is unsafe to the user.
  •  In view of the fact that products with a sandwich bottom offer excellent heat retention, there is no need to use high temperatures during cooking.
  •  Do not pour cold water or similar liquids into the hot pan to avoid exposing the product to a temperature shock that may easily damage it and cause it to be difficult to wash.
  • Stainless steel pans and cooking implements may change color slightly during use as the result of temperature changes and long cooking. This is a natural phenomenon with stainless pans and is no reason for returning the product.

Baking with the heating lid

  • For baking (cakes, desserts, etc.) with the heating lid, we recommend filling the pan no fuller than to the level indicated by the “MAX level baking” line.
  • The REMOSKA® Dua is not equipped with regulation because it cooks evenly and you need to have no fear that you will burn the dish you are cooking. The temperature inside the pan is 160–180 °C (the temperature depends on the amount and type of food).

ATTENTION
We recommend filling the pan to around 2/3 its height when cooking with the heating lid: to a level of 2.0 litres for models D51 and D51F to a level of 4.0 litres for models D52 and D52F to ensure that food does not come into contact with the heating lid and burn.
NOTE! Do not preheat the heating lid or the whole Remoska without food or liquid!

  • Preheating the Remoska “dry” without food may lead to damage to the surface of the pan or deformation of the pan and pose a risk to the surroundings. If you need to preheat the pan, pour a small amount of water into the pan and then pour it out again after warming and drying the pan.
  • We recommend lifting the lid during cooking only in the most essential cases as frequent opening leads to drying of the food in the pan.
  • Model D51 / D51F (volume 2 litres) is made with three hollow screws and one blind screw. Model D52 / D52F (volume 4 litres) – the Remoska® Dua – is made with four hollow screws. This ensures optimal conditions for baking. The state of the screws should be checked as they may become blocked with dirt and burned food over the course of time.
  • When cooking meat it is important to remember that different kinds of meat contain different amounts of water and fat. We recommend always using a small amount of oil or fat before cooking with the stainless steel pan to avoid the food sticking to the stainless surface and adding a little water to less fatty foods before and during cooking. Any excess steam will escape through the valves in the lid.
  •  When preparing desserts, we recommend greasing the surface of the pan with butter and sprinkling with flour or breadcrumbs or, alternatively, using baking paper.
  • Do not put aluminium foil, baking paper or anything else between the cooking lid and the pan!
  • Open the lid as little as possible during cooking. Cooked foods remain juicy and soft and do not dry out with long baking like they do in a traditional oven.
  • We also recommend turning the pan with the cooking lid repeatedly by 180° during cooking.
  • Always disconnect the appliance from the mains when leaving it unattended. Disconnect the appliance from the mains immediately if the power cable to your Remoska is damaged and do not continue to use it.
  • DO NOT USE sharp or metal implements for mixing or for getting food off the sides or bottom of the pan as this could scratch the stainless steel surface. ALWAYS USE wooden or plastic implements only. Never cut up the food while it is in the pan!

Cooking with the glass lid

  • The pan can alternatively be used as a stainless steel pan for cooking and preparing dishes over all kinds of heat sources for cooking – gas stoves, electric hobs, induction hobs, etc. – with the enclosed lid.
  • The uniform distribution of heat is ensured by the three-layer stainless steel construction which enables economical cooking at lower temperatures while preserving vitamins and nutritional value

ATTENTION
The pan can be filled to a height of only around 4/5 during cooking with the glass lid, to a level of 3.0 litres for models D51 and D51F to a level of 4.5 litres for models D52 and D52F The baking lid cannot be used for this cooking method!

  • Do not use the stove on full heat when the pan is empty as this may lead to burning or deformation and may also pose a risk to the surroundings.
  • Do not use the pan to store foods (fridge, freezer, larder). Foods containing acids or alkalis may affect the quality and appearance of the surface of the pan.

MAINTENANCE

The REMOSKA® Dua may be cleaned only after it has completely cooled down and been disconnected from the mains.

  • Wipe the bottom of the lid with a damp sponge (do not use the rough surface) dipped in warm water and detergent.
  • The top part is made from polished stainless steel. NEVER use washing powders with abrasive particles or the rough surface of a washing sponge as this could lead to scratching!

ATTENTION!

  • ALWAYS seek out professional servicing in the case of any damage to the electrical parts of the appliance (the power cable, the heating element, the switch). The appliance MUST be subjected to electrical tests after its repair.
  • To avoid electrical injury or fire NEVER perform the repair or replacement of the power cable yourself.

THE PAN AND THE GLASS LID

After use

  • We recommend washing the pan immediately after use or filling it with a little water with a detergent to avoid food remnants drying in the pan.
  • Use washing-up liquid for washing. Pay particular attention to riveted and welded parts.
  •  Add a little water and bring to a boil if there is food burnt onto or sticking to the bottom of the pan. Then clean with a soft sponge.
  • Do not use cleaning powders or gels with abrasive particles (containing sand, etc.).
  • Do not use sharp metal objects, scourers, steel brushes, etc. as these may scratch the stainless steel and ruin its sheen. Yellowed stains on the surface can be cleaned with a soft rag with lemon juice or vinegar using a clockwise motion, and this step is repeated if necessary. Use a special cleaning liquid on burnt and scratched marks.
  • Keep the product in a dry airy place and make sure it is dry, including the lid and accessories, before storage.
  • The pan and the glass lid can be washed in a dishwasher.

The manufacturer is not responsible for damage and injury caused by incorrect use of the appliance (e.g. food spoilage, injuries, burns, scalding, fire) and is not responsible under the terms of the appliance guarantee if the above safety warnings are not observed. Do not dispose of the product in ordinary household waste following the end of its lifespan!
