Safety Precautions and Guidelines for Insta360 ONE X2 Battery

Warning: Failure to properly follow these procedures may result in property damage, collateral damage, and serious or superficial injury. To avoid fire, serious injury, and property damage, observe the following safety guidelines when using, charging, or storing your batteries.

  1. Only charge/discharge as specified.

  2. Only use this battery with an Insta360 ONE X2 camera.

  3. Do not immerse in water.

  4. Do not heat or expose to fire.

  5. Do not crush or drop the battery.

  6. Do not attempt to modify the battery.

  7. Always store in a cool location.

  8. Do not put into a microwave oven, oven or pressure cooker.

  9.  Do not use battery if it is damaged due to any of the above conditions.

  10. During assembly, charging, normal use or storage of the battery, do not use if
mechanical damage is detected, such as a change in the color of the battery.

  11. In case of leakage or an abnormal odor, remove the battery from any heat sources and wash
    off with clean water.

  12. Do not leave the battery in reach of infants who may accidentally swallow or misuse the
battery. In case of ingestion, consult a doctor immediately.

  13. Do not let leaked electrolytes come into contact with your eyes or skin. In such a case, immediately wash the area of contact with clean water and seek help from a doctor.  If not treated soon, prolonged contact may cause serious injury.

  14. Do not put the battery into fire. Do not use it or leave it in a place near the fire, heaters, or high-temperature sources. The insulator in the battery may melt, or the safety vent and structure may be damaged, all of which may cause overheating, explosion, or fire.

  15. Do not submerge the battery in water, or wet the battery. If the protective device inside the battery is damaged, the battery may be charged with an abnormal current and voltage, causing a chemical reaction within the battery, resulting in overheating, explosion, or fire. 1

  16. Only charge the battery with an Insta360 official cable. Do not use adapters that exceed the rated input current and voltage. Incorrect charging methods and charging equipment may damage the battery and cause a fire or other reactions.

  17. Do not use, charge, or leave the battery near fire or in a hot car. High temperatures may cause
damage to the protective device inside the battery, causing an abnormal reaction within the
battery, resulting in overheating, explosion, or fire.

  18. When connecting the battery to a charger or device, do not reverse the positive (+) and
negative (-) terminals. If the battery is connected and charged in reverse, it may cause a chemical
reaction within the battery, resulting in overheating, explosion, or fire.

  19. Do not short-circuit terminals. Do not let the battery terminals (+ or -) contact a wire or any metal (like a metal necklace or a hairpin) when stored. The battery may short- circuit, causing an excessive current, which may result in overheating, explosion, or fire.

  20. Do not connect the battery directly to an electrical outlet or cigarette lighter socket in a car. If a high voltage is applied, the battery may overheat, explode, or catch fire.

  21. Do not throw or drop the battery. The strong impact may damage the protective device inside the battery, which may cause an abnormal chemical reaction during its charge,  resulting in overheating, explosion, or fire.

  22. Do not drive a nail in, hit with a hammer, or puncture the battery. The battery may be damaged and shorted, which may cause overheating, explosion, or fire.

  23.  Do not solder the battery directly. Heat applied during soldering may damage the insulator of the safety vent and mechanism, which may result in overheating, explosion, or fire.

  24. Do not disassemble or modify the battery. The battery employs a safety mechanism and a protective device in order to avoid any danger. Damage may cause overheating,  explosion, or fire.

  25. Do not put the battery into a microwave oven, oven, or pressure cooker. Sudden heat may damage the seal of the battery and may cause overheating, explosion, or fire.

  26. Do not leave the battery in a charger or device if it generates an odor and/or heat, changes color and/or shape, leaks electrolytes, or any other abnormality occurs. In such a  case, immediately take the battery out of the charger or device and keep it away from fire, otherwise, the battery might overheat, explode, or catch fire.

  27. Discontinue charging after the specified charging time, even if the charge is not complete, otherwise, the battery might overheat, explode, or catch fire.

  28. Do not use the battery in electrostatic or electromagnetic conditions that exceed the limit of the manufacturer’s guarantee. Otherwise, the protective device in the battery might be damaged, resulting in overheating, explosion, or fire.

  29. Do not use the battery in any conditions aside from the specified conditions; otherwise, the battery may overheat, be damaged, or its performance may deteriorate.
