V21 ECHOMAN ANALOG DELAY
Featuring Xvive’s proprietary MN3005 BBD chip

Echoman, designed by guitar effects guru Howard Davis, is a simplified monaural version of the Memory Analog Delay. It is a state-of-the-art design based on Davis’s highly successful Deluxe Memory Man, acknowledged as among the best (if not THE best) analog delay pedals.

FEATURES

Xvive’s own MN3005 BBD bucket brigade chip; Up to 600 msec of delay time with no aliasing distortion; True Bypass with 900K input impedance; Wide bandwidth and good high frequency response, even at long delay settings; Feedback control allows self-oscillation if desired; Blend control allows adjusting the output from dry signal only to delayed signal only; High-tech filtering and noise reduction circuitry guarantee an excellent signal-to-noise ratio, even at long delay settings.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Connect the 9VDC center-negative adaptor to the power-in jack; guitar or other instrument to the input; and amplifier to the output. If the power polarity is incorrect, the pedal will not work but will not be damaged. With the MODULATION (depth) turned all the way down, adjust DELAY, BLEND, and FEEDBACK to obtain your desired echo effect. If desired, turn up the MODULATION knob and set the modulation switch to the effect you want: chorus (blue) or vibrato (red).

FOR CHORUS EFFECTS

Set TIME very short, BLEND below 12 o’clock to ensure you hear your dry signal, and FEEDBACK also below 12 o’clock to keep the sound controlled. Adjust MODULATION to taste.

FOR VIBRATO EFFECTS

Only the delayed signal is modulated. Start with MODULATION and FEEDBACK around 1 o’clock, and TIME and BLEND around 10 o’clock, and adjust to taste.

FOR REVERB EFFECTS

Set DELAY short, MODULATION all the way down or low, and BLEND around 10 o’clock to start. Set the FEEDBACK around noon, and turn higher (just before self-oscillation occurs) for a “bathtub reverb” effect that can be varied by adjusting the TIME and MODULATION settings.

CONTROLS, INPUTS AND OUTPUTS

  1. TRUE BYPASS Footswitch:
Toggle switch to turn the pedal’s effects on and off.

  2. ON/OFF LED: Illuminates when pedal is on.
LED is Blue for Chorus Modulation, Red for Vibrato.

  3. DC IN Power Jack:
Use a 9-volt DC-regulated AC power supply with min. 80 mA current (plug is barrel positive and center negative)

  4. INPUT Jack: 1/4″ mono audio jack. Connect your instrument here.

  5. OUTPUT Jack: 1/4″ mono audio jack, Connects to your amplifier.

  6. BLEND Knob:
Mix the input level and delay level

  7. FEEDBACK Knob:
Adjust the feedback of delay effects.

  8. TIME Knob:
Adjust the delay time. Max is 600ms.

  9. MODULATION:
Adjust the Chorus or Vibrato effect.

  10. CHORUS/VIBRATO: Toggles between Chorus (blue) and Vibrato (red).
