  •  Do not disassemble the unit or attempt to repair it yourself. It does not contain parts serviceable by you. In case of questions or problems, turn to our customer support.

Using

Intended Use
The digital depth gauge is predominantly used to measure the depth of drillings, grooves, and the like. However, it can also be used to measure the tire profile.
The digital depth gauge is a high-precision measuring instrument.
Only operate and use this device in accordance with this instruction manual. Any use beyond these parameters is regarded as use that is contrary to the intended purpose and can lead to inaccuracies. Reconstruction and modifications are not improper.

Before first Use
Unpack the device and check it for any damage in transit. Dispose of packaging materials or store them out of reach of children. Plastic bags etc. may become a deadly toys for children.

Taking Measurements

  1. Preparations: Before measuring clean the surfaces of the objects to be measured and use a dry cloth to wipe the measuring scale (1) of the digital depth gauge and,  depending on the operation purpose, the depth measuring tip (6) as well.
  2. If you intend to use the digital depth gauge to measure the depth of drillings, remove the depth measuring tip (6) from the holder (7) and insert it from behind on the corresponding upper respectively lower end of the scale bar (1).
  3. Press the ON/OFF key (4) to switch on the device.
  4.  Turn the locking screw (9) counterclockwise until the scale bar can be moved.
  5. Use the measuring mode toggle key INC/ABS (8) to toggle the display modes. The selected mode is indicated on the display accordingly. Using the ABS mode, the displayed measuring value is the absolute number. Briefly press the ON/OFF key (4) to set the display to zero. Perform the measurements and read the measuring results on the display. Each time you switch to the INC mode, the display is set to zero. Using the INC mode, the displayed measuring value is the relative number.
  6. Briefly press the unit toggle key (3) to select the desired measuring unit mm, Inch or fraction. The selected unit is indicated on the display accordingly. In infraction mode, the “in” icon is flashing and within 1/32’’ ±0.004 readout will convert the number after the decimal point into a fraction display.
  7. If you cannot directly read the measuring value, turn the locking screw clockwise and lock the scale bar in its place. The measuring result is “frozen” and can be read later.
  8. Press and hold the ON/OFF key for approx. 3 seconds to switch off the device. When not in use for more than 3 minutes, the device automatically switches off.

Replacing the Battery

  • The battery compartment (2) is located at the top side of the unit (above the display). Pull the battery holder, as pictured, out of the housing.
  • Insert a new battery of the type CR2032 into the battery holder. Pay attention to the proper polarity of the battery. The plus pole is facing down.
  • Carefully reinsert the battery holder into the device.
  • All symbols and icons are displayed while the device is performing a self-test for approx. Then the device is ready for use. Replace the battery if the display readability gets weaker or if you get irreproducible measuring results

Cleaning and Storing

  • Only use a soft, lit free cloth to clean the unit. Do not use aggressive chemicals or abrasives and do not use liquids.
  •  If you do not plan to use the unit for some time, please remove the battery.
  • When not in use always, insert the depth measuring tip (6) into the corresponding holder  (7).
  • Store the unit indoors in a place that is protected from moisture, dust, dirt, and extreme temperatures.
  • Store the unit out of reach of children.
