It provides necessary operation and maintenance instructions
Read all instructions before using this machine.
This machine will provide excellent service.
However, the best results will be obtained at minimum costs if:
- The machine is operated with reasonable care.
- The machine is maintained regularly – per the maintenance instructions provided.
- The machine is maintained with manufacturer-supplied or equivalent parts.

UNPACKING MACHINE
Carefully check the machine for signs of damage. Report damages at once to the carrier. Check machine contents to ensure all parts and accessories are included. Contact distributor or Tennant for missing items.
PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT
Please dispose of the packaging materials and used machine components in a
environmentally safe way according to your local waste disposal regulations.
Always remember to recycle.
INTENDED USE
This dry vacuum cleaner is intended for commercial use, for example in hotels,
schools, hospitals, shops, offices and rental businesses. The machine is
suitable for picking up dry non-flammable dust and debris in an indoor
environment. It is not suitable for picking up hazardous liquids or materials.
Do not use this machine other than described in this manual.
IMPORTANT: To ensure full warranty protection, fill out the attached
MACHINE INSTALLATION/ WARRANTY REPORT REPLY CARD and return to Tennant within
30 days of purchase.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be
followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS MACHINE
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, explosion, electric shock, or
injury:

Do not leave the appliance when plugged in. Unplug cord from outlet when not in use and before cleaning or servicing machine.

Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.

Do not allow it to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used near children.

Use only as described in this manual. Use only the manufacturer’s recommended attachments.

This machine is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge.

Do not use a damaged cord or plug. If the appliance is not working as it should, has been
dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped in water, return it to a service center for repair. -
Regularly inspect the cord and plug for damage. If the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.

Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.

Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce airflow.

Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts.

Turn off all controls before unplugging.

Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.

Do not use it to pick up hazardous dust or toxic materials.
-
Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.

Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.

Do not use without a dust bag and/or filters in place.

All repairs must be performed by a qualified service person. Use only manufacturer-supplied or equivalent replacement parts.

Do not expose the machine to rain or moisture. Store indoors only.

This appliance is provided with double insulation. Use only identical replacement parts. See instructions for Servicing of Double-Insulated Appliances.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
INSTRUCTIONS THAT MUST BE STRICTLY FOLLOWED – SAFE USE
– Read carefully the manual before use, in order to work safely.
Warning: Before operating, the appliance must be correctly assembled as
described in this manual. Check that all the equipped filtering elements are
in place and efficient.
Caution: Do not use outdoors.
Warning: Use only with dust or dry materials.
Warning : Do not pick up liquids.
- WARNING: Users must be properly trained to use the machine.
- CAUTION: Components used in packaging (ex: plastic bags) can be dangerous; keep away from children, animals, and people not aware of their actions.
- To correctly dispose of the packaging follow your local disposal ordinance.
- Make sure the voltage of the power source is the same as indicated on the rating plate of the vacuum cleaner. Verify that the socket is compatible with the plug. The power cable must always be unrolled before using the appliance. Do not use the cable coiled.
- Do not handle/use plug or appliance with wet hands.
- Do not pick up anything that can damage the filtering elements (such as glass, metal, etc.).
- Never immerse the machine in water and never use a pressure washer to clean the machine.
- Do not use this appliance beyond 2000 m (6560 ft) above sea level.
- CAUTION: Don’t pick up flammable, incandescent, explosive, or toxic dust/blends. The maximum temperature allowed is 40°C (104°F).
- WARNING: This appliance must be used on a level surface to prevent from rolling. Do not operate, move or store appliances on a sloping plane.
- WARNING: This appliance must be stored indoors and in a dry area.
- WARNING: Keep hands, feet, ears, loose clothing, hair, and all parts of the body (human or animals) away from openings.
- WARNING: This machine is not suitable for picking up dust in environments where electrostatic discharges or sparks can cause damage to electronic components and
persons.
Warning: Do not leave a working machine unsupervised. Always unplug the
machine if the appliance is not working.
Warning: Do not tamper with or modify the appliance. Failure to comply
with these instructions could result in severe personal injury or death.
Tampering will void the warranty.
The manufacturer refuses all responsibility for damages or injuries due to
improper use of the machine or in case of failure to comply with the
instructions given in this manual.
Always disconnect the power cord from the power source after operating and
before servicing. After every use and before sending the appliance to a
service center, it must be thoroughly cleaned and the tank rinsed out to avoid
hazards.

Do routine maintenance. Inspect gaskets seals, plastic parts, filters, and switches and replace those which have begun to leak or are damaged.

If an extension cord is used, ensure that the cable rating is suitable for use with the equipment. Keep dry at all times. Avoid contact with conductive surfaces.

Store the machine indoors in a clean, dry area

Only DENALI-16: When the service indicator light turns on:
the vacuum bag is full → replace it
the main filter is clogged → clean the main filter
the vacuum hose is clogged → unclog it -
And stop using the vacuum cleaner if the service indicator light turns on. Overheating can take place, causing permanent damage to the motor.
SERVICING OF DOUBLE-INSULATED APPLIANCES
A double-insulated appliance is marked with one or more of the following: the words “DOUBLE INSULATION” or “DOUBLE INSULATED” or the double insulation symbol (square within a square)
In a double-insulated appliance, two systems of insulation are provided
instead of grounding. No grounding means is provided on a double-insulated
appliance, nor should a means for grounding be added to the appliance.
Servicing a double-insulated appliance requires extreme care and knowledge of
the system, and should be done only by qualified
service personnel. Replacement parts for a double-insulated appliance must be
identical to the parts they replace.

MACHINE OPERATION
DRY VACUUMING
- Insert the main filter into the tank (Fig. 1).
- Mount the head on top of the tank and lock it with hooks (Fig. 2).
- Push hose into hose inlet (Fig. 3).
- Attach wand and desired tool to hose ends (Fig. 4).
- If your vacuum is equipped with a paper bag, slide the paper bag over the deflector (Fig. 6).
- Plug the power cord into a proper outlet and turn the cleaner on (Fig. 5).
ONLY DENALI-16:
When the service indicator light turns on:
The vacuum bag is full → replace it
The main filter is clogged → clean the main filter
The vacuum hose is clogged → unclog it
Stop using the vacuum cleaner if the service indicator light turns on.
Overheating can take place, causing permanent damage to the motor.
MACHINE MAINTENANCE
To keep the machine in good working condition, simply perform the following
maintenance procedures.
WARNING: Unplug cord from outlet when not in use and before servicing
machine.
All repairs must be performed by a qualified service person.
- Wipe machine housing with a cloth and mild detergent.
- Inspect vacuum hoses regularly for holes, loose cuffs, or clogged debris.
- Inspect the power cord for damage. Coil cord neatly after each use.
- Check the bag for fullness, and replace it, if it’s necessary.
- Wash the main filter by hand with a mild detergent as needed. Let it dry thoroughly before replacing it. This will restore your main filter so you can maintain good suction performance.
- Replace the exhaust filter every 6 months to ensure optimum filtering
REPLACING POWER CORD
- Lift the flap
- Remove the old power cord by pulling the plug, not the cord.
- Insert a new power cord and close the flap.
STORING MACHINE
Before storing the machine perform the following instructions:
- Empty and clean tank and accessory tools.
- If a bag is present, check if damaged or full and replace if needed.
- Store the machine indoors, in a clean and dry area in the upright position.
Do not store outdoors and avoid getting wet. Do not allow the machine to freeze.
