DESCRIPTION

Geox “Connnect” – is a wireless communication device that enables you to use the GEOX “CONNNECT” APP on a compatible smartphone or smartwatch to interact with smart modules in GEOX jackets (see the updated list at https://www.geox.com/connnect).

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

  1. ON/OFF button

red battery status LED

  • Connected to mains and charging: LED flashes 1 sec ON / 1 sec OFF;
  • Connected to mains and charged: LED remains lit;
  • Disconnected from mains: LED unlit:
  • Disconnected from mains with low battery: LED flashes 1 sec ON 5 secs OFF

blue BT audio LED

  • LED flashing: BT audio is connecting to the device.
  • LED lit: audio is connected to the device.
  • LED unlit: BT audio is not connected

blue BT data LED

  • LED flashing: BT data is connecting to the device.
  • LED lit: BT data is connected to the device.
  • LED unlit: BT data is not connected
  1. USB-A output to power GEOX compatible modules;
  2. Micro-USB input for recharging the GEOX “CONNNECT” with the USB / Micro-USB charging cable;
  3. 3.5 mm Jack input for connecting compatible earphone devices;

FIRST USE

  1. INITIAL CHARGE:
    Use the “D” Micro USB port with a DC 5V/1A power supply until fully charged – requires about 3 hours (“L1” LED it).
    Disconnect the GEOX “CONNNECT” when fully charged.

  2. DOWNLOADING:
    Download and install the appropriate GEOX CONNNECT” APP on your smartphone and/or compatible smartwatch from https://www.geox.com/connnect;

  3. PAIRING:
    Turn on the device with button “A”. LED “L3” will start flashing. Start the BT pairing procedure with the GEOX CONNNECT” APP and follow the instructions until the “L3” LED remains lit.

  4. CONNECTING:
    insert the USB plug of the smart module contained in the GEOX jacket into port “C” and place the GEOX CONNNECT” device in the special pocket;

  5. The functions of the GEOX “CONNNECT” device and the smart module in the GEOX jacket can be managed from the GEOX CONNNECT” APP menu.

  6. The connected smart module can be turned on and off from the APP. To turn off the GEOX “CONNNECT” device completely, press button “A” for about 3 seconds;

GENERAL ADVICE

  • Use only with compatible GEOX products (see the updated list at https://www.geox.com/connnect);
  • Use the audio jack in accordance with local legislation. In particular do not use both earphones while driving, cycling or operating machinery, or when reduced ability to hear external sounds poses a danger to yourself and others.
  • Do not risk an accident or injury by allowing your use of the product to distract your attention while travelling on foot, by bicycle, scooter or in a motor vehicle
  • Do not expose the device to heat sources or to high levels of temperature and humidity;
  • Disconnect and remove the GEOX “CONNNECT” device if not using the jacket regularly, and store it in a cool, dry place;
  • If not used for more than 2 months, fully recharge the battery to ensure correct maintenance;
  • Disconnect and remove the GEOX “CONNNECT” device from the jacket to recharge it or to perform any work on the jacket;
  • GEOX “CONNNECT” is classified as a portable electronic device with a rechargeable battery for personal use, and can be included in your in-flight hand luggage. However, you should contact your carrier before traveling for information about security restrictions. It is important to turn off the device with the “A” button during air travel;

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

The product is intended exclusively for private use. Before using the device, check that it has no visible external damage. Do not use if defects are detected.  The device must not be opened, burnt, immersed in liquids or short- circuited. Improper use may cause fire, explosion or corrosive damage.  If damaged or used improperly, the battery may emit irritating fumes. In such an event, move into the open air and seek medical advice if necessary. If fluid escapes from the device, prevent contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Immediately clean parts of the body that come into contact with the fluid and seek medical advice. Children and people with physical or mental disabilities should not use the device unless assisted by an adult. Keep the device out of direct sunlight. Do not connect any device during recharging. Modifications not expressly approved by Geox could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. GEOX and its affiliates and their respective executives, shareholders, partners, managers, officers, representatives and employees (“Geox Parties”) specifically disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied or statutory, including the warranties and conditions of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Geox Parties will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, bodily injury, death, physical damages, emotional distress or discomfort, resulting from your use of the product.

In no event shall the Geox Parties’ aggregate liability to you for all damages or claims relating to the product exceeds the greater of (i) €500 (or equivalent amount of local currency); (ii) the amounts paid by you to the Geox Parties for the product. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties and conditions or the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential, or other types of damages. In those jurisdictions, the warranties and conditions of the Geox Parties will be the minimum required by law and the limitation of liability will be as broad as may be construed by law. It is normal for the device to heat up during charging. If it becomes excessively hot, disconnect the power supply and stop using it to avoid the possibility of injury from escaping gas or fluid, or from explosion.

Recycle properly
Do not dispose of the product in fire. According to the European Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), these appliances must not be disposed of together with normal solid urban waste, but collected separately to optimise the recovery and recycling of their components and prevent damage to health and the environment caused by the presence of potentially hazardous substances. For this reason, all such products carry the crossed-bin symbol. Waste material can be disposed of in specific collection sites or delivered free of charge to the distributor upon the purchase of a new equivalent device or with no obligation to buy another in case of devices smaller than 25 cm.
