Proper use

ATTENTION
This unit is only to be used indoors.
– The Professional washing head PW 30/1 is an additional spray extraction appliance. It can be used with the Puzzi 200/300 S Series with a built-in socket and is suitable to remove heavy soiling from carpets.
– This appliance is suited for commercial use, e.g. in hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops, offices, and rental companies.

Safety instructions

DANGER
– Never spray and vacuum up explosive liquids, combustible gases, explosive dust as well as undiluted acids and solvents! This includes petrol, paint thinner, or heating oil which can generate explosive fumes or mixtures upon contact with the suction air. Acetone, undiluted acids, and solvents must also be avoided as they can harm the materials on the machine.
– Switch off the appliance prior to cleaning and performing any maintenance tasks or replacing parts. In the case of mains operated appliances, remove the mains plug; in the case of battery-operated appliances, pull out the battery plug or clamp off the battery. Shut the device off when switching to a different function.
– Make sure that the power cord or extension cables are not damaged by running over, pinching, dragging, or similar. Protect the cable from heat, oil, and sharp edges.
– The power cord must be checked regularly for damages, such as cracks or aging. If damage is found, the cable must be replaced before further use.
– The appliance may only be used by persons who have been instructed in handling the appliance or have proven qualification and expertise in operating the appliance or have been explicitly assigned the task of handling the appliance.
–  Please keep in mind that the power cord or extension cable can be damaged when run over while operating the cleaning head with rotating brushes/ disks.
– Maintenance work may only be carried out by approved customer service outlets or experts in this field who are familiar with the respective safety regulations.

Function

With the PW 30/1, the dirt is brushed out of the carpet by a rapidly running brush in addition to the spray extraction process. This allows thorough cleaning of even severely soiled carpets.

Startup

Get the washing vacuum Puzzi ready to operate.
Connect the spray/suction hose to the appliance (Fig. A, B).
**Connect the PW 30/1 to the spray/suction hose (Fig. C). Ensure that the couplings of the pressure hose lock-in.
Using the additional socket:**

  1.  Slide the protective cover in the direction of the arrow with the PW 30/1 appliance plug.
  2. Insert the PW 30/1 appliance plug into the auxiliary socket of the washing vacuum Puzzi.
  3. Operate the PW 30/1 as per the operating instructions.

Operation

Turning on the Appliance
Startup the washing vacuum Puzzi.
Start the brush drive on the appliance switch of the PW 30/1 (Fig. D).
Note: The brush drive will stop when the brush is blocked. For troubleshooting instructions see “Fault assistance”.

Cleaning

Use the valve handle (Fig. E). This will spray on the detergent solution. The wastewater will be immediately vacuumed back up via the suction nozzle.
Pull the PW 30/1 backward in slightly overlapping runs over the carpet.
Start in location so that you will not have to walk on already cleaned areas.
Release the valve handle while driving forward (empty lift).

Turning Off the Appliance

Switch the brush drive off at the appliance switch.
Shut off the washing vacuum Puzzi.

Transport

CAUTION
Risk of injury and damage! Observe the weight of the appliance when you transport it.
Pull the appliance behind you by the suction pipe for transporting it over longer distances.
Grab the appliance by the casing and the suction pipe to transport it.
****When transporting in vehicles, secure the appliance according to the guidelines from slipping and tipping over.

Storage

CAUTION
Risk of injury and damage! Note the weight of the appliance in case of storage.
This appliance must only be stored in interior rooms.

Care and maintenance

After each operation
Rinse the PW 30/1 with clear water.
Clean the brush roller of lint and dirt.
Check the spray pattern of the nozzle mouthpiece; if it is irregular, clean the nozzle and the mouthpiece.
Clean the suction hose and nozzles if the suction performance is reduced.

Half-yearly
Check the toothed gear wear and the tension, and replace it if required.
Check brush wear, replace brush if required.

Maintenance Works

Replacing the brush roller
Loosen the 5 screws and remove the hood.
Remove the toothed belt.
Unscrew and withdraw the bolt on the front of the brush.
Remove the holding plate on the opposite side by removing three screws and take the brush out.
**** Assembly of the brush in reverse sequence.

Troubleshooting

Brush is blocked
Note: If the brush is blocked, the brush motor is shut off.
Switch the brush drive off at the appliance switch.
Check brush to see if there are impurities and remove blocking objects, if any.
Remove the safety cap and press the safety switch by means of a screwdriver.
Reinstall the safety cap.

In the event of a warranty claim please contact your dealer or the nearest authorized Customer Service center. Please submit the proof of purchase.
