ADVICE

OIL
As oil quickly loses its optimal quality, it is best to change the oil regularly.

  • Groundnut oil after using the fryer 8 to 10 times
  • Vegetable oil after using the fryer 10 to 12 times
  • Olive oil after using the fryer 8 to 10 times
  • Certainly replace the oil if it begins to smell, turns a dark color, tastes strange, becomes thick, or begins to foam. Refresh the oil in one go, do not mix old oil with new oil.
  • Some preparations such as breadcrumb-coated products or strongly spiced/herbed products and meat preparations may cause the oil to decrease in quality faster than expected. Take this into account.
  • A regular change of oil will make cleaning the oil reservoir and basket easier.
  • Prolonged heating reduces the quality of the oil. Always switch your fryer off immediately after use.

FRENCH FRIES

  1. Use thick, not too-new potatoes. Cut them up in sticks. Clean the sticks under running water and dry them off.

  2. Bake your fries two times. Let the fries cool down after the first frying, before baking them for the second time:
    · First frying: 150-160°C: 5 to 10 minutes (depending on the amount)
    · Second frying: 175°C: 2 to 5 minutes

  3. Let them drip thoroughly before serving.

FROZEN FOODS

  • Frozen foods cool off the oil strongly. Therefore don’t use any large portions.
  • Shake the food above the sink to remove most of the ice.
  • Set the temperature knob to 175°C. Submerge the basket in the oil slowly to prevent strong bubbling.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Always pull the plug from the electric socket first and wait until the oil has cooled off completely before you start cleaning.

  2. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents. Never use sharp objects to remove dirt.

  3. Pour the oil out of the reservoir and clean the inside with kitchen paper. Use a damp cloth for the outside of the appliance. Dispose of the waste oil at a waste disposal unit for oil.

  4. The oil reservoir, the lid, and the basket can be cleaned in warm water with washing-up liquid.
Thoroughly dry the parts. The outside casing should only be cleaned with a cloth. Replace the filter in the lid after each cleaning.

  5. Never immerse the control panel in water.

  6. Assemble the appliance after cleaning. Make sure that the control panel is correctly placed; otherwise, your appliance will not work.

  7. Make sure that no water can get into the oil reservoir or is present on the lid before you fill the appliance with oil.

Note: there is a safety feature in the recess for cord storage. If the oil in the appliance becomes too hot, this safety will be activated. This means that the device will turn itself off. Allow the appliance to cool and then press this button again to reset the appliance. It will then be possible to use the fryer again.
