Smart Water Detector
Install Guide
DESCRIPTION
This Smart Water Detector provides valuable telemetry to help protect property from damage caused by water, temperature extremes and high humidity. The Detector should be installed in locations with a high risk of exposure to water and/or temperature/humidity extremes (i.e. basements for weather-related events, under or near appliances or fixtures like dishwashers, water heaters, etc., and attics or crawl spaces for temperature). To optimize property protection, use the Flo By Moen Smart Water Shutoff for pro-active control of the plumbing system to reduce the impact of catastrophic failures.

SETUP AND INSTALLATION
Prior to installation, the Flo By Moen App must be downloaded from the Apple
App Store or Google Play Store and installed on a smartphone (iPhone or
Android). After an account has been created and the user logged in, the
Detector is ready for set-up. The diagrams on the following pages provide
guidance on how to access and activate the Smart Water Detector’s battery.
Note: To maximize battery life it is recommended to wait to activate the
battery until pairing and installing the Detector.
Once the pairing process is completed using the mobile app, the Detector is
ready to be placed. The unit operates as a standalone sensor when placed
directly on the floor without the use of the mounting base. The mounting base
is intended to be used for the wall mounting of the primary sensor. When
attached to the wall mount base, the remote sensing disc (included with
Detector) or the separate leak sensing cable accessory must be installed to
enable leak detection.
The sensing disc is intended for small spaces, such as under fixtures or
appliances. The leak sensing cable(sold separately) enables the creation of a
sensing line or ring that will indicate if water contacts any point along its
length. Up to 3 leak sensing cables can be connected in series to a Smart
Water Detector.
