SETTING TORQUE READING

Foot Pounds (Example of setting 85 FOOT POUNDS)

Locate Lock Nut on the end of the handle. Turn the Lock Nut counterclockwise to unlock the knurled handle.
Setting the hundreds place digit – set 80 first: Locate “FOOT POUNDS” main scale. Turn the knurled handle counterclockwise until the top edge is aligned with “80”mark on the main scale, and the“0” mark on the micrometer scale is centered on vertical line.
Setting the tens place digit – increase to 85: Every micrometer scale marking equals ONE ft./Ib.. Turn micrometer handle counterclockwise until“5″ mark (reads from right to left) is centered on vertical line.
Turn the Lock Nut clockwise to lock torque. Now, the wrench is set at 85 ft./Ib., and it is ready to use.

Newton Meters (Example of setting 85 NEWTON METER)

Locate Lock Nut on the end of the handle. Turn the Lock Nut counterclockwise to unlock the knurled handle.
Set 81.4 first: Locate“NEWTON METER” main scale. Turn the knurled handle counterclockwise until the top edge is aligned with”81.4”mark on the main scale, and the“0” mark on the micrometer scale is centered on vertical line.
Increase to 85: Every micrometer scale marking equals 1.36 N/m. (Target Torque – Previous setting) – 1.36 N/m W (85 – 81.4) + 1.36 = “3″. Turn Turn micrometer handle counterclockwise until”3”mark (reads from right to left) is centered on vertical line.
Turn the Lock Nut clockwise to lock torque. Now, the wrench is set at approximately 85 N/m, and it is ready to use. Actual torque is 81.4 + 1.36 x 3 = 85.48 N/m.

OPERATION

Install proper socket/attachment to the square drive and apply to nut/bolt.
Pull the handle slowly and steady in clockwise. When the desired torque setting has been reached, you will feel and hear wrench click.
STOP PULLING: DO NOT continue pulling on the wrench after it clicks. Wrench will automatically reset for next operation after pressure is released.

MAINTENANCE

Store wrench in a dry and clean environment. Do not clean it with any type of cleaner or liquid. Moisture may damage the internal components. To clean the wrench, simply just wipe it with a dry cleaning cloth.
Keep the torque scale at the lowest setting when not in use.
The lowest setting:“10″ mark for main scale and “0” mark for micrometer scale.
DO NOT keep it below the lowest setting.
Operate the wrench several times at a low torque setting after not used for a long period of time. This action permits special internal lubricant to recoat internal components.

Important

Breaking down the wrench or adjusting calibration without proper equipment can damage the wrench to internal parts.
Be sure to be cautious while using, like breaking loose stuck fasteners.
Be sure to first learn the mechanism on how the wrench works. Try it on a non- critical fastener.
The wrench will “click” once the torque value is reached. The wrench won‘t stop applying force by itself.
Make sure to listen and feel the click. The click will be subtle at a low torque setting.
Set the wrench to the lowest torque value when not in use.
The wrench only measures torque in clockwise rotation.
