Please read this guide completely before using your new Reveal.
Reveal has been produced by a world-class team of design, engineering, and manufacturing experts to create a product that puts your safety first.
We’ve constructed Reveal with a flexible silicone seal to provide form-fitting security and long-lasting comfort.
Reveal’s clear lens allows for full face visibility so you can more easily connect and communicate with others. Reveal is Face ID compatible for most people and can be worn with average-sized glasses and sunglasses.
And, our proprietary filter cartridge captures pollutants and aerosols as you breathe in and out–helping to protect you and those around you.
This user guide will help you set up your Reveal. You will learn how to attach and adjust the straps for a proper fit, install and replace the filter cartridge, and clean and store your mask for use whenever you need it.

Using Your Reveal
Although no mask can offer 100% protection from environmental threats, your ZShield Reveal is a high-performance respiratory filtration mask that will provide many years of service when used properly.
Please take time to become familiar with the information in this document, and to set up your Reveal correctly. You should be able to complete all of the steps necessary in less than 20 minutes.
Following these best practices for use will maximize the benefits and service life of your Reveal and should only take about 5 minutes per day:

1.  Clean your Reveal at the end of each use. Be sure to remove your filter and straps before cleaning.
2. Dry your Reveal thoroughly with a microfiber cloth.
3. Apply an anti-fog enhancer such as ZClear to the inside of your lens after each wash or as needed. This will protect and help to maintain the transparency of your lens.
4. Install a new filter and re-attach the straps.
5. Your mask is now ready to use.

Ensuring Your Reveal Fits Properly
Reveal is designed to fit most adults and has been tested on a wide variety of face shapes and sizes. The Medium size will fit most women, and the Large size will fit most men.
However, people with very small or large faces may not achieve a good fit with either a Medium or Large Reveal.
Refer to the illustrations on the opposite page to understand how your Reveal should fit to achieve a comfortable and secure seal.
Ideally, the top edge should rest just below the bridge of your nose, and the bottom edge should be just above the point of your chin.
Properly fitted, your Reveal is wearable with average-sized glasses and will not obscure your lips or mouth.

Attaching and Adjusting the Straps
Your Reveal includes a strap that fits behind the ears and neck. You can also purchase an optional strap that fits behind the head and neck. The strap you use is a matter of personal preference. When properly installed and adjusted, either strap option will provide a secure fit.

1. Attach the loop ends of the straps onto the strap hooks of your Reveal.
2. Adjust tension and length by sliding the adjusters along the straps.
3. The bottom seal should rest between your bottom lip and chin. 4. Make sure the earpiece is positioned as shown (for ear strap only).

Equal, moderate pressure around your nose and mouth is ideal. Your Reveal should feel secure and comfortable when adjusted properly.

Installing and Removing the Filter Cartridge
Installation: Gently pull the silicone seal downward and insert a new filter. Make sure that the filter cartridge is inserted fully and seats snugly into your Reveal.

Removal: Gently pull the silicone seal downward and remove the current filter cartridge.

When to Replace Your Filter Cartridge

Based on average exposure and usage, we recommend replacing your filter cartridge once per week or after 40 hours of use, whichever comes first.

Your needs may vary based on environmental and personal usage considerations. In very dusty or contaminated environments, you should change your filter cartridge more frequently.

shield Reveal filter cartridges have been independently tested and verified to have better than 95% efficiency capturing the most penetrating particle size of .3 microns.

If breathing through your mask becomes difficult – an indicator that the filter is capturing particulate – your cartridge should be replaced as soon as practical.

shield Reveal filters are engineered and tested specifically for use with Reveal. Do not use unauthorized or copycat 3rd party filters. Authentic and affordably priced Reveal filters are your best protection.

Rotating filters is not recommended, use only new Reveal filter cartridges.

Disposal: Under normal usage, the filter cartridge does not contain any hazardous substances and can be thrown away with your household waste.

Storage

shield Reveal comes with a microfiber pouch for day-to-day storage and transport. The pouch can also be used to clean and polish your Reveal.

We suggest keeping your Reveal carton for long-term storage and safekeeping.

Store your Reveal in a cool, dry place away from excessive cold or heat, humidity or moisture, and direct sunlight.

Cleaning

1. Do not wash your Reveal using a dishwasher.
2. Remove the filter cartridge and straps.
3. Wash your Reveal with warm water and mild soap.
4. Avoid harsh cleaning products, including dishwashing detergents, which may damage your Reveal mask.
5. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and place right side up (resting on the bottom surface) on a soft towel and allow to air dry away from sunlight on a flat surface, or gently wipe dry with a microfiber cloth.
6. When dry, use your microfiber storage pouch or any microfiber cleaning cloth to remove any streaks or water spots from the clear lens.

We recommend a treatment such as ZClear paste or spray to protect and provide anti-fog properties to your Reveal.

Condensation and Fogging

As we breathe in and out, our body naturally moistens the inner surfaces of our lungs and the air we exhale carries with it water vapor. This water vapor can form into tiny droplets of liquid on any surface that our breath contacts.

The temperature difference between your breath (warmer) and the air outside (cooler) can cause this water vapor to form condensation on the inside the surface of your Reveal, creating a fog that can make it less transparent.

This is normal and can be reduced with an anti-fog cleaner such as ZClear or any similar product.

Anti-fog coatings create a super smooth surface that makes it difficult for water to stick. Although the water vapor is still inside your Reveal, anti-fog coatings prevent moisture from collecting on the inner surfaces, helping to keep your Reveal clear.

Depending on the temperature and humidity of your environment, you may occasionally need to wipe the inside of your Reveal with a microfiber cloth to remove condensation. In high humidity or with physical exertion your filter may become damp or even saturated. This does not reduce filtration efficiency but may make it harder to breathe in and out.

If you notice excessive condensation or fogging, remove, clean, and dry your Reveal and apply an anti-fog treatment such as clear. Be sure to remove the filter cartridge before cleaning.

If you experience increased breathing resistance, move to an isolated and safe environment and replace your filter cartridge.

shield Reveal has not been tested or approved by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, the Centers for Disease Control, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, or any other regulatory agency, and has not been proven safe or effective with respect to protection against any infectious or communicable disease, including without limitation COVID-19.
Any user of the product in such a manner does so solely at his or her own risk. Reveal is not yet approved as a medical or industrial-grade product, is not a replacement for an N95 medical-grade respirator, and is intended for personal use only.

No mask or respirator is capable of complete protection against any dangerous substance or virus. shield Reveal helps reduce, but will not eliminate, the inhalation of contaminants. Misuse may result in sickness or death.

We cannot, and we expressly do not claim that ZShield Reveal will guarantee protection against COVID-19. We expressly disclaim any liability of any nature if anyone making use of our products contracts COVID-19 or any other virus or medical condition.

shield Reveal is non-sterile and should be used in combination with additional protective gear or PPE in accordance with health guidelines.

shield Reveal is not intended as sole surgical apparel for protection in a clinical setting. shield Reveal is not recommended for use in the presence of a high-intensity heat source or flammable gas and should NEVER be placed or cleaned in a microwave oven or similar device or equipment.
