POLICE FORCE TACTICAL PFTTS17 Stun Flashlight
Product Overview
CHARGING BATTERIES
-
We recommend fully charging the rechargeable batteries before inserting them into the unit. To do so, insert both 18650 batteries (included) into the charger according to the polarity diagram shown on the charger. If the batteries are inserted correctly a red light will illuminate. Next, insert the flip-out plug into a standard wall outlet. When plugged in, a red light on the charger will come on while the batteries are charging. Charge unit for 4-6 hours.
IMPORTANT: Do not charge for more than 6 hours at a time. Overcharging can damage the batteries and will void the warranty. If the flashlight becomes dim or if the electrical stun current becomes noticeably weaker, the batteries will need to be charged. When not in use, charge the batteries every 60 days to ensure the unit will function optimally when needed. -
To insert the batteries into the stun baton, unscrew the end cap by turning it in a counterclockwise direction. Insert the positive end of the batteries first. Screw the tail switch back on.
USING THE FLASHLIGHT
Note: When the Power ON/OFF Push Button Tail Switch is turned on, fully pressing the Power/Mode Button changes the mode from Light, Stun, to Stand-by.
- Press the Power ON/OFF Push Botton Tail Switch until the flashlight turns on. Half press either the Power/Mode Button or the Power ON/OFF Tail Switch Button to select one of the following light settings: Hi, Medium, Low, Strobe or SOS.
- Fully press the Power/Mode Button to remove the safety and enable the Stun Activation Button. The Stun Warning Light will change to red or orange, indicating the unit is now in stun mode.
- Fully press the Power/Mode Button once more to enter the standby mode. (NOTE: Press the Power ON/OFF Tail Switch button to power off the unit.)
TESTING THE STUN GUN
We recommend test firing the stun gun and becoming familiar with its operation
before you need to use it to defend yourself.
WARNING: Do not test fire the stun gun for more than 1 second as this
will damage the unit and void the warranty.
- Press the Power ON/OFF Push Button Tail Switch to power on the unit. Fully press the Power/Mode Button until the Stun Warning Light turns orange or red.
- Press the Stun Activation Button to test fire the unit. Do not hold down the button for more than 1 second. You will see and hear a charge fire across the top of the unit between the Contact Prongs.
- IMPORTANT: Press the Power/Mode Button again (the Stun Warning Light will turn off) to move to stand by mode or press the Power ON/OFF Push Botton Tail Switch to power off the unit.
USING THE STUN GUN IN SELF DEFENSE
-
Follow the instructions in the previous section until you see the Stun Warning Light turn on.
-
Touch your assailant’s body with the Contact Prongs and press the Stun Activation Button.
-
Touching anywhere on the assailant’s body will have an effect. However, the maximum effect is achieved in the areas shown in the diagram
-
When touching the assailant’s body, you will not see or hear the electrical charge as you do when the unit is test fired. You can hold down the Stun Activation Button for more
than 1 second, as this will not damage the unit as it will when test fired. -
You do not have to be concerned about the effects of the charge being transferred to you. Even if the assailant touches you while being stunned, you will not feel the effects of the charge.
EFFECTS OF THE UNIT ON AN ASSAILANT
- Touching an assailant for less than 1 second will cause minor muscle contractions and have a repelling effect.
- Touching an assailant for 1 to 2 seconds will cause muscle spasms and a dazed mental state.
- Touching an assailant for 3 to 5 seconds will cause loss of balance and muscle control, total mental confusion, and disorientation. All effects to the assailant are temporary; the stun gun can cause no permanent harm. NOTE: The device should not be used for longer than 5 seconds.
