QUICK START
This page is for quick reference only. Read all warnings and instructions before use.

  1. Open – remove the top red lid then turn clear dome clockwise. (Fig 1.)
  2. Clean – (details on page 7).
  3. Install Batteries – four AA 1.5v batteries (details on page 9).
  4. Fill – (details on page 11).
  5. Enjoy – Make sure anti-tip sensor is pressed down. Press ON/OFF Button to turn dispenser ON then place your hand under the sensor.

SAFETY INFORMATION AND WARNINGS

All of the safety and operating instructions should be read, understood and followed before the unit is operated.

  • DANGER: RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK – If using an AC adapter, DO NOT attempt to access or modify the internal body compartments. There are no serviceable parts. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do
    not expose this unit to water, rain, or moisture. NEVER reach for a unit that has fallen into water or other liquid. Unplug immediately and discontinue use.

  • DANGER: POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD – Only use a UL-certified AC adapter that complies with required output specifications stated below.*

  • WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD – Small parts may pose a choking hazard to children. Not for children under 3 years. Certain hard candies and/or nuts may not be suitable for young children. Close supervision is necessary when this product is used near children or others whom may choke on these items.
    *The manufacturer recommends using only a UL-certified OUTPUT DC 6.0V 500mA AC Adapter.

CAUTION: Misuse may result in personal injury. Please read all safety information and instructions carefully.

  • Inspect the product before every use. If the product appears worn, frayed, cracked or broken in any manner, discontinue use and discard immediately.
  • Position this unit away from direct sunlight or heat sources such as radiators, electric heaters, or stoves.
  • DO NOT use this unit outdoors or under direct sunlight.
  • Never drop or insert an object into any opening on this product.
  • If using an AC adaptor, protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched and do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces.
  • Use this product only for its intended use, as described in this instruction manual.
  • Clean Candy Dispenser prior to use and periodically thereafter. See the Cleaning the Candy Dispenser section for details.
  • ONLY lift the Candy Dispenser from the bottom section. Lifting the Candy Dispenser using the upper-portion may cause the top to fall off and the contents to spill.

BATTERY PRECAUTIONS

  • Dispose of the old batteries properly. Do not dispose of the old batteries in a fire.
  • Do not leave the batteries where a child or pet could play with or swallow them. If the batteries are swallowed, contact a physician immediately.
  • The batteries may explode if mistreated. Do not attempt to recharge or disassemble the batteries.
  • Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type. Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries, or rechargeable batteries of different capacities
    WARNING: Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

BATTERY WARNING:

  • Remove batteries before storing.
  • Recycle or dispose of batteries according to federal, state, and local laws.

CLEANING THE CANDY DISPENSER

The Candy Dispenser must be disassembled and cleaned before the first use. Parts to be cleaned are; the Canister Lid, Dome, Funnel, Auger Cover, Auger and Auger Holder. Always remove the batteries before cleaning.
To Disassemble the Candy Dispenser:

  1. Press and hold the Power On/Off button to turn off the Candy Dispenser, and all candy and nuts are removed from the Canister (if it is not your first use).
  2. Remove the Canister Lid, Dome, Funnel, Auger Cover, Auger and Auger Holder. Important:
    Do not operate when disassembled.
Clean the Parts:

Important:

  • DO NOT clean any parts in the dishwasher.
  • DO NOT submerge the Main Body in water.
  • DO NOT fill the Canister with water.
  • Make sure the parts are dry before reassembling.

Wash the following parts with mild detergent:

  • Auger
  • Auger Cover
  • Auger Holder
  • Canister Dome
  • Canister Funnel
  • Canister Lid

Wash the following part with a damp cloth:

  • Candy Dispenser Base
  • Candy Chute
  • Main Body
  • Sensor

ASSEMBLE THE CANDY DISPENSER

  1. Be sure the On/Off Button is off. Press and hold the On/Off Button to turn off the Candy Dispenser.
  2. Place the Auger and Auger Holder into the Candy Dispenser Base, making sure the gear on the Auger meets the motor gear.
  3. Place the Auger Cover over the Auger. The gear on the Auger should be on the outside of the Auger Cover.
  4. Place the Canister Funnel over the main body. Slide slots on the bottom of the Funnel into the Tabs on the interior of the Main Body.
  5. Place the Canister Dome into the Main body, and lock it in a counter-clock direction.
  6. Press the Lid into the opening on the top of the Canister Dome.

INSTALLING THE BATTERIES

  1. Press down on the tab of the Battery Compartment Door.
  2. Remove the Battery Compartment Door, and set it aside.
  3. Insert four 1.5vAA batteries in their correct polarities, shown here.
  4. Insert the tabs of the Battery Compartment Door in the slots on the Battery Compartment, and snap the cover-up into place.
    IMPORTANT: Use NEW batteries of the same size and type when replacing the batteries. Non-rechargeable alkaline batteries are recommended.

USING THE CANDY DISPENSER

Be sure the Candy Dispenser is placed on a flat surface.

  1. Remove the Canister Lid from the Canister Dome.
  2. Pour the candy or nuts of your choice into the Canister Dome.
  3. Place the lid back onto the top of the Canister.
  4. The Candy Dispenser is designed to prevent accidental activation. The item needs to be resting on a hard/flat surface in order to function. If the Candy Dispenser is not resting on a hard/flat surface, the Candy Dispenser will not dispense.
  5. Push the On/Off Button to turn the Candy Dispenser on.Sensor LED lights will flash twice. Continuous LED light flashing indicates the anti-tip sensor is active.
  6.  Place your hand under the Candy Chute to trigger the Sensor.
  7. The candy will be dispensed. Remove your hand when the all the candy has been dispensed.
  8. Press and hold Power Button to turn the dispenser off.
    Note: Initially, it may require a few activations of the Sensor to move the candy or nuts into the Candy Chute.
    Reflective or clear bowls may not activate the Sensor.

The following candies and nuts are recommended to use in your Candy Rocket Sweet Dispenser:

  • Gumballs
  • Hard-shelled, Chocolate-coated Candy
  • Hard-shelled, Fruit-flavored Candy
  • Hazelnuts
  • Jelly Beans
  • Jawbreakers
  • Macadamia Nuts
  • Pine Nuts
  • Shelled, Unsalted Peanuts
  • Shelled Pistachios
  • Small Jordan Almonds
  • Soy Nuts
  • Sunflower Seeds
  • Whole Almonds
  • Salted Peanuts

The following candies and nuts are NOT recommended to use in your Candy Rocket Sweet Dispenser:

  • Wrapped candy
  • Soft-coated candy
  • Barrel-shaped or cylindrical candy
  • Gummy candy
  • Raisins

MAINTENANCE

  • Clean your Candy Rocket Sweet Dispenser: periodically, especially after using a new type of candy or nut. Refer to the Cleaning the Candy Dispenser section for details.
  • Clean the Dispenser after using a new type of candy or nuts.

Troubleshooting the Candy Dispenser

  • Problem:
    The candy is not dispensing.

  • Solution:

    • Irregular-shaped candy or nuts may have blocked the funnel opening. Tilt or tap the unit gently to alleviate any blockage.
    • High temperature or humidity may have caused the candy or nuts to bind together.Remove the blockage and move the unit to a cooler location.
  • Important:
    Only fill the reservoir half way when using irregular-shaped candy or nuts.

  • Problem:
    The sensor is not working.

  • Solution:

    • Make sure the Candy Dispenser is on.
    • Check if the batteries are exhausted. Replace if necessary.
    • Debris may be on the Sensor. Turn the unit off and gently clean the Sensor with a damp cloth.
    • Make sure your hand or bowl is directly under the Chute.
  • Problem:
    Dispensing occurs when no hand or bowl is under the Chute.

  • Solution:
    Debris may be on the Sensor. Turn the unit off and gently clean the Sensor with a damp cloth.

  • Problem:
    The amount dispensed is inconsistent.

  • Solution:

    • May occur when using irregular-shaped candy and nuts.
    • Debris may be on the Sensor. Turn the unit off and gently clean the Sensor with a damp cloth.
    • Candy level may need to be adjusted. Gently shake the Candy Dispenser to redistribute the candy in the dome.
  • Problem:
    There is a loud clicking noise when the Sensor is activated.

  • Solution:
    This noise indicates candy or nuts may be stuck in the Chute, it is a safety feature. Turn the unit off. Gently tilt or tap the unit to clear any candy or nuts blocking the Chute. If necessary, remove all the candy or nuts from the reservoir
    and disassemble the unit per the instructions on page 6 and clear any candy or nuts from the Chute.
