Product introduction

CAB BOX is a professional cabinet simulator. It features 20 stunning cabinet simulators, besides, It offers many classic microphones and power amp modes. R-08 is versatile and a perfect choice for performance, recording, and connecting headphones for practice quietly.

Panel

1. MASTER: For adjusting the Master Volume.
2. SELECT: Edit by turning and pressing the knob.
3. BALANCED OUT: Standard XLR balanced jack, You can connect ROB to the MIXER by this jack.
4. MIDI IN: Standard MIDI Input Jack, can connect with the pedal controller. R-08 has 128 tone store positions, those 128 positions are also the sequence of MIDI program change, so you just need to ensure the sequence of corresponding MIDI program change is the same as the MIDI controller, long-press the HOME button and then you can choose MIDI channel.
5. GND LIFT: This switch selects whether the XLR is grounded or not.
6. DOWN: Heel down the footswitch and switch the PRESET tone.
7. UP: Toe down the footswitch and switch the PRESET tone.
8. Power AMP: Press the knob and enter power amp modulation edit Interface.
9. CAB/MIC: Press the knob and enter the cabinet and microphone edit interface.
10. EQ: Press the button and enter EQ parameter edit Interface.
11. SAVE: Press the button and enter the store and edit interface.
12. HOME: 1 Press the button and return to PRESET main Interface. 2 Press and hold it for 2 seconds and enter the MIDI channel selection interface.
13. INPUT: Signal Input connects to the effect pedals, Preamp Output through 1/4″ signal cable.
14. THRU: True Bypass signal output(used for guitar amp on stage, or other devices that don’t need cabinet simulation signal).
15. DC 9V: Please connect DC 9V center minus power to this input.
16. Micro USB: Can connect to PC and edit tones by software, load third party IR, and firmware update.
17. Headphones: Stereo headphones output.
18. OUTPUT: Cable output connects to sound card/mixer, use 1/4″ signal wire to get unbalanced output.
19. Ambiance light: Please refer to number 20 to set up ambiance light mode.
20. Ambiance control switch
    SYNC mode-the ambiance light is green light when the footswitch is turned on, the ambiance light goes off when the footswitch is turned off.
    ALWAYS mode the ambiance light is in green.
    OFF mode-the ambiance light Is off.

How to connect?

PRESET interface

1. PRESET number.
2. Cabinet model’s name and speaker’s size.
3. POWER AMP ON/OFF status display.
4. Cabinet ON/OFF status display.
5. EQ ON/OFF status display.
   • Turn the SELECT knob and switch the preset tones.
   • Turn the MASTER knob and adjust the Volume.
   • Press both of the DOWN and UP footswitches and you can enter Bypass mode, press the DOWN and UP footswitches again and you can exit from Bypass mode and back to the main interface.

Edit the tones

The corresponding edit interfaces for the 5 functions

POWER AMP BUTTON: Tap the POWER AMP button and enter the POWER AMP modulation edit interface.
CAB/MIC BUTTON: Tap the CAB/MIC button and enter the CAB/MIC edit interface.
EQ BUTTON: Tap the EQ button and enter the EQ edit interface.
SAVE BUTTON: Tap the SAVE button and enter tone edit and save interface.
HOME BUTTON:

1. Tap the HOME button and return to the main interface.
2. Long press the HOME button and hold for 2 seconds, and enter MIDI channel selection Interface.

POWER AMP EDIT

POWER AMP: Choose POWER AMP modules ON/OFF.
TUBE: Choose the type of POWER TUBE.
INPUT: For adjusting the Input signal’s Gain.
PRESENCE: Presence control.
OUTPUT: For adjusting the volume of POWER AMP output.

CAB/MIC edit

CAB: CAB/MIC module’s ON/OFF.
MODEL: Choose the cabinet’s model.
MIC: Choose the type of microphone.
MIC VOL: For adjusting MIC Volume’s Gain.
C-EDGE: For adjusting MIC’s pickup excentricity(0-center of the speaker 30-edge of the speaker’s cone).
DISTANCE: For adjusting the distance between the MIC and cabinet(0-adjacent to the cabinet 50- far from the cabinet).

EQ edit
R-08 contains 3 different post EQ modules

1. EQ/Hz each EQ s frequency can be customized in a certain range.
2. GAIN For adjusting frequency’s Gain/A attenuation.
3. LP Low-pass filtering.
4. HP High-pass filtering.

Parametric equalizer

FREQ: Each EQ’s frequency can be set up as you like.
DB: For adjusting frequency’s Gain/Attenuation.
Q: For adjusting the Q value of frequency.
HP: High-pass filtering.
LP: Low-pass filtering.

SAVE edit

MIDI channel selection

• Long press the HOME button and enter the MIDI channel selection interface
• Turn the SELECT knob and edit the MIDI channel’s operating info

USB

You can have access to expanded edit functions by connecting R-08 to the PC through MicroUSB.

• A PRESET controller can import/export tone files.

• Edit PRESET parameters quickly and conveniently.

• Load the third-party IR cabinet modulations.
