- “Power” – indicator
- “Ready” – indicator
- Heating element
- The “Reset” button
HANDLE ASSEMBLY
-
Hold the handle above the basket as shown in the drawing.
Gently press the two arms of the handle towards each other, so that they fit into the inlets (holes) of the basket, and let go of the arms (arrows). -
Turn the handle towards the side of the basket. Press the handle against the side of the basket until it clicks firmly into place.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Clean the unit before using it for the first time, as indicated below.
-
Remove the lid, take the basket out of the appliance and lock the handle.
-
Fill the oil reservoir between the MIN and MAX – markings, approximately 4 litres.
-
Place the lid on the appliance and plug the appliance into the electric socket.
-
Adjust the temperature dial to the desired temperature, the “Power On” indicator will light up.
-
When the desired temperature is reached the “Ready” indicator will light up.
-
Open the lid. Place the food in the basket. The food must be as dry as possible.
Loose remains of ice must be removed first. Lower the basket carefully into the hot oil and place the lid on the appliance. Watch out for the hot steam that may be released from the ventilation holes. -
If the temperature drops, or drops when you add food, the “Ready” indicator will switch off temporarily until the desired temperature has been reached again.
-
If the frying of the food has been completed, open the lid and use the handle to hang the basket on the edge of the oil reservoir. Let excess oil drain.
-
Then lift the basket up and carefully shake off any possible remains of oil.
-
When you have finished frying everything, switch the appliance off by turning the temperature dial to the minimum position. Pull the plug from the electric socket.
-
Your fryer has automatic overheating protection. This ensures that the oil in the reservoir cannot get too hot. If the fryer fails to heat up the cause may be that the safety switch has been engaged. This can occur when you have used too little or too much oil. To turn off this protection, press the reset button on the back of the control panel.
ADVICE
As oil quickly loses its optimal quality, it is best to change the oil regularly.
- Groundnut oil after using the fryer 8 to 10 times
- Vegetable oil after using the fryer 10 to 12 times
- Olive oil after using the fryer 8 to 10 times
Certainly replace the oil if it begins to smell, turns a dark color, tastes
strange, becomes thick, or begins to foam. Refresh the oil in one go, do not
mix old oil with new oil.
Some preparations such as breadcrumb-coated products or strongly spiced/herbed
products and meat preparations may cause the oil to decrease in quality faster
than expected. Take this into account.
A regular change of oil will make cleaning the oil reservoir and basket
easier.
Prolonged heating reduces the quality of the oil. Always switch your fryer off
immediately after use.
FRENCH FRIES
-
Use thick, not-too-new potatoes. Cut them up in sticks. Clean the sticks under running water and dry them off.
-
Bake your fries in two times:
• First frying: 150-160°C: 5 to 10 minutes (depending on the amount)
• Second frying: 175°C: 2 to 5 minutes -
Let them drip thoroughly before serving.
FROZEN FOODS
- Frozen foods cool off the oil or fat strongly. Therefore don’t use any large portions.
- Shake the food above the sink to remove most of the ice.
- Set the temperature knob to 175°C. Place the basket slowly and gently into the frying pan, to prevent the strong bubbling of the oil.
CLEANING
-
Always pull the plug from the electric socket first and wait until the oil
-
has cooled off completely before you start cleaning.
-
Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents. Never use sharp objects to remove dirt.
-
Pour the oil out of the reservoir and clean the inside with kitchen paper. Use a damp cloth for the outside of the appliance. Dispose of the waste oil at a waste
disposal unit for oil. -
The oil reservoir, the lid, and the basket can be cleaned in warm water with washing-up liquid, or washed in a dishwasher. Thoroughly dry the parts. The outside casing should only be cleaned with a cloth.
-
Never immerse the control panel in water.
-
Assemble the appliance after cleaning. Make sure that the control panel is correctly placed; otherwise, your appliance will not work.
-
Make sure that no water can get into the oil reservoir or is present on the lid before you fill the appliance with oil.
