Intended use

2.1 Proper use
The electronic control unit is used to control, display and monitor Trauma appliances, third-party appliances and accessories
The control panel is intended for installation in caravans and motor homes

Inappropriate use
All uses other than those listed under intended use are unauthorized and therefore not permitted Installation in boats is not permitted

Operating approval
The following circumstances invalidate the operating approval of the appliance

  • Modifications to the device, including accessories
  • Using replacement and accessory parts other than original Truma parts
  • Not observing the information in these operating instructions
    In some countries, these circumstances also invalidate the operating approval for the vehicle

Safety instructions

General safety

  • Read and closely observe the safety instructions to prevent danger, material damage and injury
  • Read and observe the operating instructions and supporting documents for the appliances, such as gas supply, heater, air conditioning system and the vehicle carefully and keep them in a safe place for subsequent use
  • Observe local laws, guidelines and standards associated with the use and operation of the appliance

Safety instructions for the control panel

  • The control panel must not be operated unless it is in technically perfect condition
  • Repairs must be carried out immediately Carry out repairs yourself only if the solution is described in the troubleshooting guide of the control panel or in the app
  • No repairs or modifications to the control panel are allowed
  • A defective control panel may be repaired only by Trauma or its service department
  • Never use LP gas appliances when refuelling, in multi-story car parks, in garages or on ferries Switch off the control panel to prevent the heater being switched back on by the Trump app or the time switch (see “Switching on / off”)
  • Do not switch on the appliance if the housing is damaged or if liquid has entered it

Obligations of the operator/vehicle owner

  • Make sure that the appliance can be operated properly in all operating phases

Installation, dismantling, repositioning
Only competent, trained personnel (experts) may install and repair the Trauma product and carry out the function check with consideration of the installation and operating instructions and the current recognized rules of engineering  Experts are persons who, based on their professional training, their knowledge of and experience with Trauma products and the relevant standards, are able to carry out the required work properly and recognize potential hazards

Do not install, dismantle or reposition the device on your own. Have the device installed, dismantled or repositioned only by an expert

Display
The control panel has a display (Fig 1-1)
This is used to operate and display values and settings of connected appliances

Operating elements
The control panel has two buttons (Fig 1-2) (Fig 1-3) which are used to trigger basic functions and to navigate the menu

Symbol Function

  • Home
    • Return to the main menu (press briefly)
    • Standby mode (press and hold)
  • Back
    • Return to the current menu (press briefly)

Operation

Menu navigation
The control panel is operated via the display with your fingers The display and active selection options vary depending on the menu Use the Home and Back buttons to navigate the menu

  • Briefly press the Home button to go back to the main menu
  • Briefly press the Back button to go back to the previous menu level The last set value remains unchanged

Switching on the control panel

  1. Control panel off
  2. Start screen
  3. Main men
    Press the Home button briefly (1 second) The start screen opens in the display (Fig 2-2), followed by the main menu (Fig 2-1)

Switching off the control panel
Switch the control panel off in the main menu Switching off the control panel also switches off all of the connected heaters and air conditioning units

  3. Control panel off
    In the main menu (Fig3-1) press “Switch off”
    In the submenu (Fig3-2) press “Switch off” The control panel is switched off (Fig 3-3) All connected appliances are switched off

Standby
If no entries are made for a certain time, the control panel goes into standby mode to save power The dis-play is switched off

  3. Standby mode
    After 60 seconds, the display changes from the main menu (Fig 4-1) to the lock menu (Fig 4-2)
    After another 60 seconds, the control panel goes into standby mode (Fig 4-3) The display is off

Some devices are switched off in standby mode, depending on the device configuration, and some devices remain switched on The configuration is dependent on the devices installed and cannot be set In standby mode, all connected appliances can still be controlled by other system participants (mobile devices) If the control panel is in standby mode, press the Home button briefly to activate it Press the Home button briefly (1 second) The lock menu is displayed (Fig 4-2) You can also press and hold the Home button to put the control panel in standby mode In the main menu, press and hold the Home button (5 seconds) The control panel goes into standby mode (Fig 4-3)

Remote control for an air conditioning system
When the control panel and an IR remote control are used together for a connected air conditioning system, the following features must be observed:

  • The control panel and the IR remote control can be used simultaneously
  • The IR remote control transmits only the settings that are shown on its display Settings that are changed using the control panel are not shown on the IR remote control
  • It is only possible to set the start and end time of a desired period (timer function) using the remote con-trol of the air conditioning unit

App control (Bluetooth)
The iNet X app can be used to control appliances, such as heaters or air conditioning systems To do this, the app must be installed on a mobile device (smartphone / tablet) and a Bluetooth connection to the control panel is required

Installing the app
Depending on the operating system, the app can be ob-tained from the Google Playstore (Android) or the App Store (iOS)
The app can also be downloaded from the following page: https://www.truma.com /truma-inetx-app
The QR code will also take you to the site

Several different mobile devices can be stored in the control panel The stored mobile devices can be man-aged via the control panel
Up to 3 mobile devices can be connected to the control panel simultaneously and be used to control appliances

Connecting a mobile device with the control panel
Mobile devices are connected to the control panel via Bluetooth For this to function, the mobile device must be within the range of the control panel

  • Enable Bluetooth on the mobile device
  • If you have any questions with regard to the settings of the mobile device, contact the manufacturer
  • Follow the instructions from the setup wizard on the display and the app instructions on the mobile device

Faults

Listed below are some actions that can be taken to rectify faults If the measures taken are unsuccessful, please contact TrumaService for Truma devices – for devices made by other manufacturers, please refer to the relevant service department

The Control panel cannot be switched on.

  • 12 V Check power supply
  • Check the fuses of the power supply in the vehicle and replace if necessary

Error messages

If a fault occurs in a connected appliance, this is shown on the control panel Solutions to rectify the fault are suggested in the display

Resetting faults

  • Follow the instructions on the display
  • Acknowledge faults on the control panel

App problems
If you encounter problems with the app, check that you have the latest version and, if not, update it

Software update

If a software update for the control panel is available, you can install it via a mobile device To do this, you must be connected to the Internet

Updating software

  • Connect a mobile device to the Internet

  • Install or update the app on the mobile device

  • Switch on the control panel and establish a Blue-tooth connection between the control panel and the mobile device
    If a software update is available for the control panel, you will see this in the app
    If an update is available, then:

  • connect the mobile device to the power supply or make sure that the battery is sufficiently charged

  • During the update, remain within the Bluetooth range of the control panel

  • Follow the instructions in the app and on the control panel

The update can run in the background and may take up to 15 minutes When the update is complete, a message is displayed
If the update could not be completed, the system falls back to the previously installed software version to en-sure that the control panel can be operated safely

Replacing the battery

The control panel has a battery to store user settings, such as time, language and device settings When the power supply is switched off, these settings are stored
The battery should last about 8 years and, if required, can be replaced by a dealer

Cleaning and care

Use a damp, non-scouring cloth to clean the display If this is not sufficient, use a neutral soap solution

Disposal
National regulations and laws must be observed Do not dispose of used batteries along with household waste Used batteries must be disposed of separately at a collection point for  recycling This is an important contribution to environmental protection

Interference resistance
This device corresponds to Section 15 of the FCC regulations and the RSS standards of Industry Canada for license-exempt radio devices For operation, the following conditions must be fulfilled:

  1. The device must not cause any damaging interference
  2. The device must be immune to interference, also interference that could cause unwanted operating states

WARRANTY

Manufacturer’s Warranty (European Union)

Scope of Manufacturer’s Warranty
As the Manufacturer of the appliance, Truma under-takes a warranty towards the Consumer that covers any material and/or manufacturing defects of the appliance This warranty is applicable in EU member states as well as the United Kingdom, Iceland, Norway, Switzer-land and Turkey A Consumer is the natural person who was the first one to purchase the appliance from the Manufacturer, OEM or dealer and who neither resold the appliance in a commercial or self-employed professional capacity nor installed it for a third party in such a capacity The Manufacturer’s Warranty covers any of the afore- mentioned defects that occur within 24 months upon concluding the purchase agreement between the seller and the Consumer The Manufacturer or an authorized service partner undertakes to remedy such defects through subsequent fulfillment, at its discretion either by repairing or replacing the defective item Defective parts shall become the property of the manufacturer or the authorised service partner If the appliance is no longer manufactured at the time of defect notification and if replacement delivery has been opted for, then the Manufacturer may deliver a similar product

If the Manufacturer remedies a defect under its War-ranty commitment, the term of the Warranty shall not start again with regard to the repaired or replaced parts; rather, the original warranty period shall continue to be applicable to the appliance Only the Manufacturer itself or an authorized service partner shall be entitled to conduct a warranty job Any costs that occur in the event of a warranty claim shall be settled directly between the authorized service partner and the Manufacturer The Warranty does not cover additional costs arising from complicated removal or installation jobs on the appliance dismantling of furnishings or parts of the vehicle body), and neither does it cover travel expenses incurred by the authorized service partner or the Manufacturer No further-reaching claims shall be permitted, especially damage claims presented by the Consumer or third parties This shall not affect the provisions of the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz) The voluntary manufacturer’s warranty does not affect the Consumer’s legally valid claims for defects against the seller in the relevant country of purchase In indi-vidual countries there may be warranties that can be issued by the relevant dealer (official distributor, Truma Partner) In such cases the warranty can be implement-ed directly through the dealer from whom the Consum- er bought the appliance The warranty regulations of the country in which the appliance was purchased by the Consumer for the first time shall also be applicable

Warranty exclusions
No warranty claim shall be applicable under the following circumstances:

  • Improper, unsuitable, faulty or negligent use and any use that is not compliant with the intended purpose

  • Improper installation, assembly or commissioning, contrary to operating or installation instructions

  • Improper operation or operation contrary to operating or installation instructions, particularly any disregard for maintenance, care or warning notes

  • Instances where installations, repairs or any other procedures have been conducted by non-authorised parties

  • Consumable materials and parts which are subject to natural wear and tear

  • • Installation of replacement, supplementary or accessory parts that are not original manufacturer’s parts or which have not been approved by the manufacturer This applies in particular if the appliance
    is subject to networked control, if the control units or the software have not been approved by Trauma or if the Truma control unit Truma CP plus,
    Trauma inbox, Trauma iNet Panel, Trauma iNet X Panel) has not been exclusively used for controlling Trauma appliances or appliances approved by Trauma,

  • As a consequence of damage arising from foreign substances or plasticizers in the gas), chemical or electrochemical influences in the water, or cases when the appliance has come into contact with unsuitable substances chemical products, flammable substances or unsuitable cleaning agents)

  • Damage caused by abnormal environmental or un-suitable operating conditions

  • Damage caused by force majeure or natural disasters or any other influences not within Trump’s responsibility

  • Damage resulting from improper transport

  • End customer’s or third-party modifications of the appliance, including any replacement, supplementary or accessory parts, or installation of the same, especially concerning the exhaust gas system or the cowl

Making a warranty claim
The warranty must be claimed with an authorized service partner or at the Trauma Service Centre All addresses and telephone numbers can be found at www.truma.com in the “Service” section

To ensure a smooth procedure, we would be grateful if you could have the following details ready before contacting us:

  • Detailed description of the defect
  • Serial number of the appliance
  • Date of purchase

The authorized service partner or the Trauma Service Centre will then specify the further procedure To avoid transport damage, the affected appliance must only be shipped by prior arrangement with the authorized service partner or the Trauma Service Centre If the warranty claim is recognized by the Manufacturer, then the transport expenses shall be borne by the same If no warranty claim is applicable, the Consumer The authorized service partner or the Trauma Service Centre will then specify the further procedure To avoid transport damage, the affected appliance must only be shipped by prior arrangement with the authorized service partner or the Truma Service Centre
If the warranty claim is recognized by the Manufacturer, then the transport expenses shall be borne by the same If no warranty claim is applicable, the Consumer

Should problems occur, please contact the Trauma Service Centre or one of our authorized service partners (see www.truma.com).
In order to avoid delays, please have the unit model and serial number ready (see type plate).
