MATERIALS RECYCLING
Dispose of packaging materials in accordance with local regulations. Old units still have a certain residual value. Correct and environment-friendly disposal ensures that valuable raw materials can be recycled and used again. Your local authority can supply current information on the options for disposing of worn- out units and packaging materials.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Follow all the safety instructions below. They help to ensure safety. They also avoid damage to the unit and any risk of injury. Damage and/or injury may result if the safety instructions are not followed. This unit is not designed for use in the following conditions:

  • Never heat: food in sealed containers (e.g. cans); compressed products; coffee pots and similar. Thermal expansion could result in an explosion.
  • Do not rinse the induction hotplate directly under water. Avoid spilling water, soup, etc. into the internal parts of the induction hotplate.
  • Do not heat empty pots/pans.
  • When in use, do not leave the product unsupervised for any lengthy period of time. If you do leave the product unsupervised for a short time, ensure that the pot/pan has enough water, etc. in it.
  • Do not heat iron objects on the hotplate’s heating surface. Temperatures can become high and there is a risk of damage/injury.
  • Utensils designed for cooking on an induction hotplate must be used exclusively for this purpose.
  • This product is designed for household use.
  • Never leave the unit running without a pot/pan (with food and liquid) on the hotplate. Failure to do this can damage the product.
  • Children must not play with the product.
  • The instructions shall state that appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
  • When the product is not to be used for a long time, pull the plug out of the power outlet.
  • When using the induction cooker do not place it on any metal platform.
  • Do not place paper, aluminium foil, fabrics or other unsuitable objects on the hotplate’s induction heating surface.
  • If the product is damaged, stop using it. Take it to a service point, or the retailer, and get it replaced.
  • When using the induction hotplate, place it on a flat, stable surface with at least 10 cm free space between all its sides and any walls. Do not use the induction hotplate in confined spaces. So that excess heat can dissipate, keep the ventilation openings free from obstructions.
  • If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced.
  • Use a dedicated, high quality power outlet that has a minimum 10 A rating (fuse protection). Do not use the product connected to outlets shared by high power appliances such as air conditioners, electric cookers, etc. This can overload the power outlet.
  • Do not touch the heating surface with sharp implements. This can cause cracks or other damage. If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid the possibility of electric shock.
  • Metal objects such as knives, forks, spoons and lids must not be placed on the heating surface – they can become hot.
  • Do not use the induction hotplate near objects at high temperatures (e.g. gas cookers or grills).
  • To avoid overheating, ensure that the unit’s ventilation openings are kept free from obstructions.
  • The heating surface retains heat for a while throughout use of the unit (e.g. after removing a pot/pan). Do not touch the heating surface.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

PUTTING A POT/PAN ON THE CERAMIC PLATE

  • Ensure that the ventilation openings are free from obstructions. Keep cooking implements away from the immediate vicinity of the ceramic plate.
  • Ensure that the pot/pan has food and/or liquid in it. Place it in the centre of the ceramic plate.

PLUGGING INTO A POWER OUTLET
There is an audible signal when the power supply is connected. An “L” appears on the display. This means that the induction hotplate is in stand-by mode.

TURNING THE INDUCTION HOTPLATE ON

  • Press the “ON/STAND-BY” control. The induction hotplate is now ready for use. To put the induction hotplate into heating mode, press the “Function” control.
  • If you press the “ON/STAND-BY” control and then do not press any other control within 10 seconds, the induction hotplate switches off automatically.
  • If you press the “Function” control and the correct sort of pot/pan is not on the ceramic plate, the hotplate does not heat up and there is an audible signal to remind you to put a pot/pan on the hotplate. If you do not do this, the induction hotplate switches off automatically after one minute.

USING THE FUNCTION CONTROL
When you have turned the induction hotplate on, press the “Function” control to set the temperature or power level. To adjust the power level, press the “+” or “-” control.  To adjust the temperature, press the “+” or “-” control.

USING THE TIMER

  • To activate the timer function, press the “Timer” control. When the timer indicator comes on and the digits are flashing, press “+” or “-” to set the cooking time.
The time can be set from 1 minute to 3 hours.

  • After adjustment, the set time flashes and is then shown steadily on the display. The induction hotplate starts counting down the time.

  • When the count reaches zero, heating stops and the induction hotplate switches off.

  • If you do not set a cooking time, the induction hotplate switches off automatically after a certain time.

USING THE KEEP WARM CONTROL

USING THE BOOST CONTROL
The “Boost” control immediately activates the highest power level. To reset the unit to normal power, press the “Boost” control again.
