Features and Functions

  • Large easy to read digital LCD display
  • Measurements are displayed in Millimeters, Inches in Decimal and Inches in Fraction with the push of a button

Operating Instructions

Battery Installation

  1. Make sure the Digital Caliper is turned off.
  2. Remove the battery compartment cover by sliding the cover to the right.
  3. Install the new battery with positive (+) side facing up.
  4. Replace the battery cover.

NOTE: Always remove the battery before storing the instrument.

Using the Product

On/Off Buttor

  1. Push the on/off button once to turn the unit on.
  2. Sliding the blade will also turn on the unit.
  3. After approximately 5 minutes of no movement or button push, the unit will shut off. To restart the unit, push the on/off button once.
  4. To turn off the unit, push the on/off button again.

Zero Button

  • With the unit on, push the zero button to set the display to zero.

mm/inch/F Button

  • Push this button to change the LCD readout from Millimeters, to Inches in Decimal to Inches in Fractions.

Lock Knob

  • Rotate the lock knob clockwise to lock the display. Turn the lock knob counterclockwise to unlock the display from the scale.

Thumb Wheel

  • With the lock knob unlocked, rotate the thumb wheel to move the display in small increments.

Calibration Procedure

  • With the digital caliper turned on, close the jaws on the caliper until they are fully closed.
  • Press the zero button to zero out the display.
  • Using a known length, such as a ruler, measure one inch and the digital display should read 1.0000″ within 0.001″.

Care and Handling

  • Avoid exposing unit to shock vibrations and extreme temperatures.
  • Before moving or transporting the unit, make sure that the unit is turned off.
  • Remove the batteries when storing the unit for an extended time (more than three months) to avoid damage to the unit should the batteries deteriorate.
  • Always store the unit in its case when not in use.
  • Avoid getting the unit wet.
  • Keep the unit dry and clean. Remove any moisture or dirt with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals, strong detergents or cleaning solvents to clean the unit.

Trouble Shooting

  • If the caliper does not slide, loosen the locking knob.
  • If the unit does not turn on, check the battery polarity or install a new battery and clean the battery terminal.
  • If the unit is out of calibration, follow the calibration procedure in the user manual (section 6).
  • If the unit will not calibrate, contact our Customer Service Department.
  • If the caliper is providing inconsistent measurements, install a new battery and clean the battery terminal.
