Michelangelo Love Kit
IMPORTANT Use cold water with alginate. If the tap water is very hard, use bottled or distilled water (free of mineral salts) to prevent the alginate hardening process from becoming too fast.

Open the “Michelangelo Moulding Alginate” bag.| Get 1.8 Liters of water: use
cold water. Hot water makes the hardening process too fast.
| 
Pour the water into the plastic container (1,8 liters for 1 bag of
Michelangelo Casting Alginate).| Slowly pour the powder into the container and
start mixing.
| 
Mix for 2 minutes to obtain a smooth mixture, using the plastic spatula or an
electric kitchen mixer.| Insert your hands when the violet color starts to
fade, trying not to touch the edges of the container.
|
Keep your position still for about 3 minutes and until the alginate is
completely hardened and white in color.| Slowly pull your hands out of the
container. Avoid sudden movements that could damage the alginate impression.

Open the “Michelangelo Casting Plaster” Bag.| Pour 300 ml. of water into the
measuring cup.
| 
Pour the plaster into the water while mixing with the spatula.| Mix the
plaster until you get a homogeneous consistency without lumps.
| 
Pour the plaster into the alginate mold, tilting the container to avoid the
formation of air bubbles.| Allow the plaster to dry for at least 2 hours or
overnight until it is fully set.

Run the plastic spatula around edges of the container and try to slide the
mold out of it.| Remove the alginate mold from the plastic container.
| 
Make some vertical cuts along the surface of the alginate using the plastic
spatula.| Break the alginate into small pieces. Use the cleaning sticks to
remove residues and imperfections from the surface of the sculpture.

To obtain a perfect cast, first, you need to make a mold using MICHELANGELO
MOLDING ALGINATE, an alginate-based material produced by ALGAPLAY in Italy.
Alginate is a natural and biological material made from seaweeds. It is used
in many sectors, from food to cosmetics and dentistry.
Dentists make impressions of your teeth with alginate: in a similar way, it is
possible to duplicate other parts of your body at home, such as a hand or even
two hands held together, creating real sculptures with different poses and
gestures.
Once the impression is obtained with MICHELANGELO MOLDING ALGINATE, you can
use MICHELANGELO CASTING PLASTER to create a perfect reproduction, which can
later be painted to make it more real.

MICHELANGELO MOULDING ALGINATE
It is a biological material made from seaweeds. It is skin safe, used in
cosmetics, non-toxic and hypoallergenic. Do not ingest the powder.
MICHELANGELO CASTING PLASTER
Avoid ingesting or inhaling the powder. Do not apply on the skin and wash your
hands after use. In case of contact with the eyes, flush with water. If
irritation persists, contact a physician. In case of contact with clothes
remove any stain with warm water and soap. This product is intended to be used
by an adult. This is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of
children.
BEFORE YOU START
Congratulations on your purchase: please read these instructions carefully to
get the best possible result.
Prepare your work area and plan in advance your project.
Any required material is included: you only need to add some cold water.
To practice, you can make a test impression of a small object or a finger with
a small amount of alginate (about 30 g. Of powder with 120 ml. of water). Use
a plastic cup to mix the alginate with the water. Then mix 40 g. of plaster
with 15 ml. of water and pour it into the impression to obtain the cast. Have
a good job and have fun!
