Safety

Read this instruction manual carefully.
Keep the instruction manual and the product information safe for future reference or for the next owner. Only use this appliance:
for growing plants from plant capsules.
In private households and in enclosed spaces in a domestic environment at room temperature.
Up to an altitude of max. 2000 m above sea level. This appliance may be used by children aged 8 or over and by people who have reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or inadequate experience and/or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the appliance safely and have understood the resulting dangers. Do not let children play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children.
Only connect and operate the power supply according to the data on the rating plate.
The device should only be connected and operated with the power supply provided.
Never place the appliance on or near hot surfaces.

Prepare the descaling solution. Select one of the following options:
‒ Dissolve two teaspoons of citric acid in 1 liter of warm water at approx. 50 °C.
‒ Dissolve a descaling tablet in 1 liter of lukewarm water and wait 5 minutes.
Slowly pour the prepared descaling solution into the plant tray.
Touch the touch button for 15 seconds until the light unit lights up green.

√The pump will run for approx. 3 minutes.

Notes

If not all deposits have dissolved, leave the descaling solution to work for at least2 hours and then start the pump again.
If necessary, leave the descaling solution to work in the bowl overnight.

Cleaning the device

After descaling, clean all parts thoroughly.

Notes

Clean all parts as indicated in the cleaning overview.
After drying re-assemble all parts in reverse order.
When inserting the pump impeller, check that there are no residues on or underneath the impeller. The pump impeller must turn easily.

the ight unit. You can insert up to 4 height modules.

Troubleshooting

Accessory	Designation	Use
MSGZMTL	Plant 2 different microgreens at the same time.

Add 1 spoonful (2 g) of nutrients to 1.5 liters of fresh tap water and pour into the water bowl.
Fit the anti-spill ring, the watering tray, and the microgreen tray.
Place the contents of one microgreen seed begin each of the microgreen sections. Fit the microgreen cover.
Place the light unit on the docking unit and insert the power supply. The light unit lights up pink and the sprouting phase begins.
If the microgreens have sprouted after 2- days, remove the microgreen cover and insert a eighth module if necessary. The microgreens will beready for harvesting after around 7 days.

| MSGZDS2L, MSGZDS3L| Choose between different colored design sleeves
and pull the design sleeve over the water bowl.
Store the nutrients and the spoon in the stow-away
the pocket of the design sleeve.
| MSGZDC1L, MSGZDC2L, MSGZDC3L| Personalize your SmartGrow with a colored design clip for the height modules. Replace the design
clips by removing the standard clip for the height
module from the side and then attaching the coloured design clip.

Troubleshooting

Light unit will light up continuously red until the water bowl is removed. The pump is blocked or the impeller is missing.

Check that the pump impeller is positioned correctly. 2
Check that the pump housing is positioned correctly.

The device is standing on a magnetic metal surface.

Check whether the location is suitable in the long term.

. Select a different location.

The light unit does not light up.
The device is not connected to the power supply.

Check whether the power supply is plugged into a socket.
Check whether the connecting cable is properly connected to the docking unit.

Ambient temperature above 40 °C. The temperature protection has switched the device off.

Check whether the location is suitable in the long term.

Close curtains or blinds to lower the room temperature.

Sleep mode is switched on or lighting has been switched off manually.

The light unit has an electronic fault

Disconnect the device from the power supply for a few hours to reset the light unit.
Reconnect the device.

Note: If the fault cannot be eliminated in this manner, please contact customer service.
The light unit lights up red for 10 seconds every 5 minutes.
The device measures a very high ambient temperature of 36-40 °C.

Check whether the location is suitable in the long term.

Close curtains or blinds to lower the room temperature.

The light unit flashes occasionally.
Too much nutrient solution in the water bowl.

Wait for a few watering cycles until the nutrient solution reaches the marking again.
Remove a little nutrient solution from the water bowl until the nutrient solution reaches the mark again.
