Notice before use

Please do not

  1. Do not scratch, rotate the pen, speak too close to the microphone, or write while recording, as it would capture noise.
  2. If the sound is loud, do not record close to the sound source.
  3. Do not delete the file unless the file has a backup.
  4. Do not press any buttons while connected to the computer.
  5. Do not use voice-activated features unless necessary. It may not record some low decibel voice you want to record.

Indicator light state explanation:

Power ON Red and blue lights illuminate
Power OFF The red and blue lights flash simultaneously and go off.
Recording Red light flashing.
Playback Blue light stays on long。
Low battery The blue and red lights flash

simultaneously and shut down.
Charging| Red light turns on while charging.
Red light turns off when fully charged
The remaining battery capacity| The battery level indicator 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% respectively.

How to charge the voice recorder

Connect the recorder to the computer with the included cable and charge it. When the red light goes out,indicates that the recorder is fully charged (2-3 hours). Next, remove the recorder from the computer.

3)Charging:While charging,the indicator will flash  and the indicator light has four different stages  (25% 50% 75% 100% respectively)|

How to set time

  1. Please connect to a PC and set the correct time first when using for the first time. (Note: The Set-Time tool is only available for Windows PCs.)
  2. Connect the device to a computer with the included USB cable. Then open the removable disk, find the “Set-Time” application and double-click on it. Time-setting is complete when the following message appears.

How to increase or decrease volume during playback

How to pause during playback: Press the power button to pause the recording and press the power button again to continue playback.

Notes:

  1. If the device is paused and doesn’t respond within 30 seconds, the device will automatically turn off
  2. If the earphone is unplugged in the pause state, the device will shut down automatically.

How to delete recordings

1)Pause the file while playing.。| 2)Double click “ + “ key to enter delete mode. Then double click “ + ” again to confirm deleting a current file.

3)If continuously click the “ + ” key three times, all the files will be deleted
Notice: Please backup files before deleting, or it will not be recovered

How to play music

1)Plug in the earphones and press the power button to enter the play mode,and short press it again to Pause playing| 2)In the pausing status double click “ ”, to switch from Recorded file playing to MP3 playing And vice versa

How to connect computer

1)Connect the pen to the computer via USB cable, when connected Successfully, you will see the connection icon After we successfully connect to a  computer, we may delete, or transfer files in and out from the recorder like a normal flash drive.| 2)A removable disk named “L82(D:)” will be shown in the file.

How to Play Recordings on PC or MAC
1. For Mac users, please download the free VLC Media Player and play the recording. (Website: http://www.videolan.org/)
2. For Windows users, please download free VLC Media Player or select “Windows Media Player” to play

Format L80A Drive on Computer Directly

After successfully connecting the recorder to your computer, right-click on the removable e disk, “L82 (D:)”, click ‘Format’,  and confirm the format it.。| Notice : All data will be erased utterly after formatting the device , so please backup before formatting.

Record-Setting

Twist off the pen body, there is a VOR (voice-activated recording) switch inside the pen. Just push it aside according to the arrow direction, and the VOR is turned on.
When voice-activated recording is on, the recorder will only
capture loud enough voice, for too low decibel voice, it would
not record| NOTICE: When voice decibel is lower than 70db, the sound will not be recorded. If no sound detected in 20 seconds, the device will save the current recording automatically, and it will enter standby mode. When voice decibel is higher than 70db, the device will start recording a new file automatically

Failed Connecting to a computer

Here are some suggestions for fixing this problem:

A.Do not swing the Micro-USB cable when connecting
to a computer in case of unstable connection| B.Sometimes failed connection is due to a broken Micro-USB

questions: 1) Can I delete a recording from my computer
answer: Yes, once successfully connected the device to

computer, the removable drive named “L80A” will be
found and all recordings will be saved in a folder
named “RECORD” on the drive. Right click on the file
you want to delete and click “Delete”

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

  1. How to use the pen and replace the ink refill?
    Right twist, push out pen nib and can write; Left twist, push back nib; Continue left twist to open the pen nib and left twist the refill to take out of it, then put in a new refill.

  2. How to charge the device?
    Unscrew the two halves of the pen and you will see buttons and a 3.5 mm earphone jack. Plug in the enclosed 3.5mm-USB cable to connect to your computer to charge the device; In charging, the red indicator always lights; the Full charged, red indicator turns off.

  3. How to manage the recording files?
    When the recorder is successfully connected to a computer, find it as the removable drive named” V82”. All recordings are saved in a folder named “RECORD”in the drive. You may delete the files with no need, or copy the files onto an ordinary USB Flash Drive.

  4. How to playback recordings?
    There are two ways to play the recordings.
    A/ with plug-in headphones and press the play button to listen to your recordings on the recorder ( you can increase the volume if the sound is little or none)
    B/ connecting the recorder to your laptop/pc to playback in the “USB Disk” -> “ RECORD” Folder.

  5. During playback using the pen itself, can you fast forward or rewind?
    This recorder pen has the feature that allows you to skip to the next/previous recordings right on the device. You can activate the voice activation feature on this recorder, it will help eliminate the silence during the recording process.

  6. Does it make any noise when the recorder run out of batteries?
    There would be no sounds when the recorder pen runs out of battery, it will automatically save the current recording. Please check the power levels before recording, just unscrew the two halves of the pen and connect to a computer, the indicator red light will flash at the”25%,50%,75% 100%” level to show you the current power.

  7. How to time stamp the recordings?
    Connect the recorder to your windows laptop, it will pop up a “V82 ” flash drive, click it and open the folder, activate the set time extension in the folder to sync the device with your state Times.

  8. Turn on / Turn off Voice Activated Function
    The VOR switch is set to the direction of the arrow, red and orange indicator alternating flashing, VOR mode turned on; Switchback, turn off the VOR mode. You can choose to turn on / turn off Voice Activated as your needs.

Important Notice for Using This Device

DOs
– When you received the recorder, we recommend that you push the power button to turn on the device, plug in the earphone and listen to a text file on the device to check sound levels.
– Back up date as frequently as possible.
– Charge the device via the supplied USB cable to a computer.
– When the battery is low ( the indicated red light keeps flashing at 25% level, saving recording and recharging it immediately.
– The device supports charging and recording at the same time.
-Remember to press the power button to stop and save your recording each time.
-Device won’t make any noise during recording. It will flash the Led light behind the pen clip to show it starts recording.
-For any issues, problems, or questions, contact us [email protected].
– Contact customer service with Order ID or Bar Code on the package for a more effective reply.
– Register for VIP service within 30 days to receive effective customer service and extend your recorder’s warranty to 14 months.
DON’Ts
-Don’t format the device unless the files have been backed up.
– Don’t delete a file unless the file has been backed up.
– Don’t use the voice Active Function unless needed.It may record some low decibel voice you don’t want to be recorded.
