Instructions
Confidently serge elostic by letting this foot take care ol all the wor This foot provides even pressure on the elastick every time to prevent polling and tugging on the needles. The adjustable guide and tension dial allow you to serge elastic with a finished uniform stretch. The guide holes provide oontrol lor projects requiring fishing line.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ELASTIC FOOT:

Before attaching the elastic loot to the machine, loosen the elastic pressure adiushnent screw, raise the pressure plate and insert the elastic until it reaches behind the loot (see illustration). Tighten the elastic pressure adjustment screw slightly.
Note: The lines on the screw are for elastic tension reference on future projects. -
Replaoe the standard loot on the machine with the elastic loot and elastic.

While stitching elastic onto yoor test fabric, adjust the elastic pressure adjustment saew until the desired effect is achieved.
Note: To insert elastic wh ile elastic loot is on the machine, raise presser foot. loosen elastic pressure odjushnent screw, raise the pressure plate and insert elastic until it touches the needle. Stitch until the elastic passes the needle. Position fabric and then adjust pressure screw as needed.

- Insert elastic into elastic loot (see instructions lor elastic loot)
- Set up machine according to above chart.
- Slightly raise the pressure plate of the loot and insert elastic between the plate and lower support bar until the edge ol elastic reaches the feed teeth. (It may be necessary loosen the elastic pressure adjustment screw to feed to the elastic through. )
- loosen the screw on the adjustable tape guide to accommodate the width ol your elastic, and then re-tighten the screw.
- Sew the elastic lor about an inch or so to ensure it is feeding properly.
- Plaoe the fabric under the foot and sew elastic to lab,ic.
- Adj ust the elastic pressure adjustment screw so that the desired finish can be obtained.
- Tighter tension on the elastic gives more elasticity ol the fabric after it is sewn.
- looser tension on the elastic gives less elasticity ol the fabric.

INSERTING FISHING LINE USING THE ELASTIC FOOT

- Thread your serger lor a 3·thread rolled edge using decorative threads in the upper looper.
- Slide the fishline through the guide holes on the right side of the elastic loot and then under the back ol the loot leaving a 3′ to 4″ tail in the bock.
- Snap the loot on the machine and place the fabric under the loot with the fishline to the right ol the needle.
- Begin serging, making sure the fishline is caught in the stitching as the edge is being rolled.
- When yoo have finished serging, carefully remove the fabric and fishline lrorn under the presser loot being careful not to pull the fishline oot ol the seam.
