LEARNING SETUP

BEFORE  YOU  BEGIN

In order to use this feature, you must have an existing remote with the buttons you wish to learn with the oneCLICK®. The learning feature does not work with remote controls that generate “RF” radio frequency signaling. Only infrared signaling is supported which is the most common format used.

LEARNING OVERVIEW

The learning feature in the oneCLICK®  allows you to take your existing remote/s and record the remote signals you need over to the oneCLICK®. This feature is very helpful when you want certain functions to be used on the oneCLICK®  we don’t normally support, like the video input or sleep timer function. Additionally, the learning feature can used to completely set up your oneCLICK®  in cases where we may not have a supported device code.
It may be best to use the learning features to completely set up your oneCLICK® under the following conditions:

  • You are using a TV/DVD or other combo devices
  • You are using a brand device that is not popular or made for the North American market
  • You are using a brand new device
  • You are using a device designed for an automobile or  RV—note that even learning may not work with these devices.

The learning sections in this guide start with just the basics you need to operate your oneCLICK® and continue with advanced learning features allowing you to program your favorite channels.
If you have never used a  learning feature with another remote control,  we suggest you review the tips on the next page to make sure you are aware of all the basics.

HELPFUL TIPS:

  1. Your  existing remote  and  the  oneCLICK®  must  be  facing  each  other  and aligned properly in order for the learning process to be successful. See the diagram above. While the ideal distance between both remotes is about 2”, you may need to try different distances between 1 inch to 4 inches if the oneCLICK® does not respond. You may also need to raise or lower the front tip of your existing remote if it does not sit flat.
  2. Pay attention to make sure you are pressing the proper button on your existing remote that you plan to learn. For example, if you are trying to learn the volume up button, make sure you press the volume up button on your existing remote and not the volume down button.
  3. If  you are  learning a  series  of signals,  like  all  the  channel  digits  to  pro‐  gram favorite channels, we recommend you do this all at one time. If you stop mid‐way, you will likely not remember where you left off.
  4. Video tutorials are provided on support.oneCLICK.com to help show visu‐ ally  how  the learning  process  works.
  5. Lighting  can  be a  problem.  In  particular,  some  fluorescent  light  fixtures can emit a fair amount of interference. If you have this type of lighting, try another location with different lighting.
  6. For best results, make sure your batteries are in very good condition ‐ both in your existing remote and the oneCLICK®. Fresh alkaline batteries are always recommended.

BASIC LEARNING: The Power, Channel, and Volume signals

BEFORE  YOU  BEGIN

Make sure you have the remote(s) you use to provide these special functions.
This section allows you to learn signals that the oneCLICK®  will use to increase  functionality. For example, learning the dash will allow you to program favorite channels that require the dash signal. If you are using an HDTV and require  channels to be  entered  using the  dash signal, for example  channel  10‐3, then you need to learn the dash signal.

Learning the video input signal can aid in making sure your TV turns connects properly when using a set‐top device. Learning the Select/OK/Enter can help with favorite channel programming with certain set‐top devices and finally, learning  the  aux.  power  allows  you to add  the  powering of  another device  like your home theater component to the power button of the oneCLICK®.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

  1. Keep the oneCLICK®  dry. If it  gets  wet,  wipe it dry  immediately. Liquids may contain minerals that can corrode the case and electronics.
  2. Use and store the oneCLICK®  only in normal temperature environments. Temperature extremes can shorten the life of the electronics, warp the plastic body and cause the batteries to leak.
  3. Keep the oneCLICK®  away from excessive dust, dirt or sand. Exposure to these elements can cause the keypad to work erratically or fail altogether.
  4. Even though  the  oneCLICK®  was  designed to  handle  above  average shocks, dropping the unit frequently can cause the case to crack as well as the internal electronics to malfunction.
  5. Use only  fresh  batteries  and  take them  out if  you do you  not  plan to  use the oneCLICK® for long periods of time. Batteries that leak can cause exten‐ sive damage to the oneCLICK®.
  6. Wipe the oneCLICK®  with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents as they may cause permanent damage to the oneCLICK®’s finish.

Modifying or tampering with the oneCLICK®‘s internal components can cause malfunction and may invalidate your warranty. If your oneCLICK®  is not performing properly, please submit a trouble request by going to support. oneCLICK.com.
